Angelfairy aren't you due around the same time as me? (7 march)

If so i think its a stage we're both going through, I have felt miserable and sorry for myself the past few days. i think its because I felt better after 12 weeks in my last pregnancy but this time I am 14 + 3 and I still feel crappity.

Never mind I keep telling myself I will wake up tomorrow and be blooming!

    Hi Millie's Mum,

Our dates are close, you are a week ahead of me. I'm due on the 13th or 14th.

I am feeling better physically as I am not feeling so sick anymore, just comes in waves, but the emotions have gone into over drive. It's like I want to cry so badly but then nothing comes out (well that is what happened last night).

I will solider on and get there like many others before me.

I think it's also reality is starting to hit. There are going to be sooooo many changes happening before and when bubs arrives.

Hope everyone else is well today.

Well done to those that could get the £2 bras....didn't have my size  the sizes they had wouldn't even fit me now

    Take care
  • :j Yay - I feel better now knowing that I am not the only one who isn't following the rules 100% of the time (I am mostly an angel :A )

Peanut M&Ms have been a weakness though - I wouldn't normally eat them but now they just look like the most tempting thing in the world.

I have read conflicting advice about peanuts though - some say that you should only avoid them if there is a history of allergies. I have also read that 1 or 2 units of alcohol once or twice a week is acceptable after 12 weeks...and in the absence of any scientific certainty I always opt for the option that suits me best!!!

I can't stand the smell or taste of wine anymore though - which can only be a good thing!

Keelycat don't worry about the lists! Just look at a few lists of 'essential' items and see how they vary. They are silly! One leaflet from my hospital recommends 'facial spritz, cds and lip balm' and what??? clothes for pole dancing in no doubt LOL
Lucky you i SO wish I knew when I would be going into labour, I am so tired of waiting! my EDD is on the 24th. My dd's birthday is the 17th so they have picked a good date for you;)

Oooh good luck to you too :o not long to go for either of us then!

I can understand the cd bit-as they say listening to music and trying to relax helps during labour, but im not bothering with taking tonnes of stuff in with me! I had quite a good list from the midwife at one of my 'parent craft' classes-didnt have any silly things on it :o

Ive got my mom coming over today for the day, and my sisters popping in to see me tomorrow...im popular all of a sudden lol.

Well I have eaten all manner of seafood, raw fish sushi, the occasional small glass of wine or beer, soft ice cream, a bit of Camembert, most types of nuts.
The so called 'rules' vary according to which country you live in. australian women are told not to eat smoked salmon.
My Mum was told to avoid cabbage and citrus fruit and told by midwives/doctors to drink guinness.
someone told me that nuts are only a problem if you have a 'leaky gut' or if there is a family history of nut allergy.
I am sure the prevalence of nut allergy has gone up since pregnant women being told not to eat nuts.
A huge number of people are immune to common sense even let alone 'guidelines' but the human race still carries on. We've all seen them outside the maternity wards having a fag. :rotfl:

Thing about taking CDs with you is that you have to take the chance they actually have a CD PLAYER available! :) AFAIK you could not take your own cos it would not have ben safety tested.

It was actually the midwife showing us around the hospital that told us this, there's definatly cd players in the labour/birth rooms :o they've got fans etc too so no need to worry about getting hot either. Although i know each hospital can vary/have different set ups.

That's good. Our place is a lot more hit and miss. I ended up listening to the radio.

  • I'm hoping for a more active birth this time. I was in the horizontal position the entire time when I was induced! Most likely due to the epidural though :D. And I snoozed in between contractions....but that was probably due to the gallons of gas and air I sucked dry beforehand! :rotfl: .

  • I am planning to be as active as poss this time. Little ds was born after me having an epidural and i didn't like it afterwards, cos they took him away for an HOUR before they would let me hold him. Got my revenge though cos you cant feel your bottom half you cant control your flatulence...
