I'm really excited, but its a bit weird?!

I think its very weird, hubby thinks its hilarious though lol! His latest is leaving the remote on top of my belly to see if it moves. I really dont enjoy the whole baby kicking at all thing and ive got a chuffin footballer inside me!

  • Hiya bathbabe - I admire your restraint! There's loads of us due in March so you should have plenty of company!

Toto - what a beautiful baby you have. I can't wait to have a 4D scan now!

Congrats wotnext - Rose is a lovely name, and a good weight too.

Lucifa - I am sleeping with a pillow in bed to stop me lying on my tummy (won't be a problem for long I know!) I have been considering a big sausage one too...

Is everyone else sleeping on their left hand side? I am sure I read somewhere that you had to for better blood circulation etc and it is one of those things that is keeping me awake at night - if I turn onto my right hand side (which I do several times a night) then I wake up in a mad panic :o Thing is, I am not even sure if I have actually read about this or if I have made it up...

  • Welcome and congrats, Polly & Bathbabe! :j

And welcome to the world, Rose! Hope you are both well, wotnext xx

Aww, Toto! It is an amazing experience isn't it?! I think I will be looking at Poppy's DVD for, oh, the millionth time later! I will be having another 4D with this baby in around 2 weeks and can't wait! :D

r.mac, I love feeling my baby kick! I'm so reassured by it and often have a little play with him by poking my tummy and him kicking back! ;)

MFD, you are right about the sleeping business but I toss and turn all night that I don't have any idea which side I'm on!

Well, I have just returned from seeing the MW and all is well. Babe is measuring as he should, his little heart is beating as it should and my BP is looking good! (oh, and my wee is ok too :rotfl:).

polly - welcome, love it when new people arrive

wotnext - congratulation on the birth of Rosie.

toto - your 4D scan is amazing. i am wanting to get one of these done to when the time is right.

as for me, feeling pretty rubbish today (as I did yesterday). just not the best time for me i think, but i know it will pass. i am an emotional person anyway, so this pregnancy is adding to the joys!!!

    take care all.

I read about the sleeping on the left side from the NHS website... Don't know if I'll manage it for long though... OH sleeps that side of the bed with his back to me... and he farts a lot...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

If you're anything like me you can get him back with all your pregnancy flatulence :o

I am glad that I haven't made it up but I am still not sure I will ever get used to it. I have a wierd thing about sleeping on the side of the bed closest to the door (I'm not that strange honest!!) and that, combined with my manic waking myself up when I turn over and having slept in 7 different hotel rooms over the last 2 weeks has scuppered any chance I have had of a decent nights sleep!

AF - I recommend a bath and a good old cry later (works for me, need to get rid of those hormones somehow)

Toto - don't the beans in your bean bag sausage rattle and keep you awake (I had a beanbag back in the 80's and it used to rustle so much I couldn't even sit on it!)

I got one of those triangular pillows from Argos with last two babies.

I found them perfect for resting bump on while pregnant, and also for resting baby on when feeding.

And a lot cheaper than the special 'maternity' or 'feeding' ones.

    Thanks SB and MFD,

Have had a bath and a cry the past two nights, so I think it will be 3 in a row for me today :D

I know I am fine really, but just having a run of it which hopefully will pass soon.

I have always had those triangle pillows back home until I moved over here. I am going to get one to help with BF with bubs arrives.

it's packed pretty full so doesn't move much, i find it best for just laying my top leg on when i'm on my side (if that makes any sense). It doesn't rustle though thank goodness, it would have gone back if it had. i only got this one because I had £40 in john lewis pigsback vouchers to spend.
