  • I got a letter today from the hospital where im going to have my C Section, changing my pre op date from 21st to 28th october @ 14.45. funny thing is that im due to have the c section in the morning of the 28th so think they may have a problem!

Now got appointment on the 14th for all the paperwork and then have to go somewhere else to have my bloods taken a week later ready for the big day.

These things are sent to try us i suppose!

  • Hello all,
Another interesting day at work. I'm seriously running low on clothes and I'm starting to show already! Has anyone tried those expander things that let you wear your regular trousers for longer? Do they work well? I'm waiting to tell anyone at least until I've been to the doc and heard the babys heartbeat. Won't have first scan until week 15 or so EEEKKK! It's dirivng me crazy it's too long to wait! I'm getting sooooooo impatient!

Some of these messages have really made me laugh. I've only just found out that I am pregnant. How are you working out your due dates? One of my friends who is a midwife recommended http://www.redbabybook.com which is really nice in the way it shows you when the baby might be born but I wondered how all the rest of you are doing it...

I'm very excited but also scared reading all this stuff. Normally it is my husband who spends too long on here but it nice to read there is something on this site for me too.

Congrats Liz! I worked out my due date by a similar website, (EDD March 17th) but don't know what my exact date is until I've had my first scan - they tell you exactly how far along you are then.
Some of the posts on here are hilarious. I love it because it's a great pick me up after a long day of morning sickness and tiredness. To share and have laughs with everyone else who are going through the same thing is a relief!

  • Hello ladies,

I just thought I'd let you know if it's any use, that Debenhams in Dundee had drop cup nursing bras in their sale section for between £1 and £3.

They are all non-wired and come in white (£1), black and I can't for the life of me remember the other colour (neutral perhaps?) were £3 each.

Hope this is useful to some of you and you might manage to grab a bargain as they came in a few sizes and were quite pretty and feminine which I think will make you feel good after the birth.
  • Congrats and welcome, Mrs Tine & Liz_Devon! x

Well done u for waiting so long! I felt feady for S E X straightaway!!!

    :rotfl:

OMG! :D . It took me a very l o n g time to even think about it considering what my bits had endured! I did however have forceps and stitches :o. Sorry if TMI but we did the deed on Christmas night after a glass or two of bubbly (DH's eyes lit up like an xmas tree :rotfl: ) so he had to wait that long from Oct :D . But obviously as I'm now 25w preg with a nearly 11m old, things got back to normal quite rapidly! :o :rotfl: .

Oh and pelvic examinations, I wasn't ever checked before I went into labour and nothing afterwards either  . The MW's visiting at home asked if I would like my stitches checked but I declined as I had gladly re-collected my dignity on the way out the hospital door! :rotfl: (plus they always arrived v early in the morning before I had managed to have a bath! :D ). The Dr at my 6w check wasn't interested in my bits either!

I googled ovulation calculator and it tills you your ovulation dates and when sproglet will be due etc - you just need to know the date your last period started :)

Doctor came to the same date as me so the formula is obviously the same lol

Now... This booking in thingy with the midwife we have coming up.... Ok ok it's a while off yet, but what happens there? Should hubby be there or is there anything I might not want him there for? LOL like anything going up in stirrups etc or it is just bloodpressure and historical information etc?

Thanks for posting this MrsTine....I have the same sort of questions myself

  • Booking in appointment normally just involves a feel of your tummy, a urine sample and a whole load of medical questions so probably best if OH comes along so he can answer for his side of the family. There is nothing to worry about.
