Hi Lucifa73,
Not many appointments for me - but not sure if different areas of the country differ.
I had 10 week booking in at hospital with first scan.
Next is 20 week scan at hospital (2 weeks on monday - yippeeee!!)
Then 28 weeks with midwife at doctors for my AntiD jab.
Then I think they said 34 weeks at midwife/doctors and they possibly also mentioned 38 weeks somewhere!!
Not half as many appointments as when i had DS(11) and DD(7).:beer:0 -
Hi All.
Not been around for a few days. Hope everyone is getting on well.
I've just got a quick question relating to bleeding in pregnancy.
I'm trying to remain calm etc and dont want to phone the midwife if i dont have to.
This morning used the loo, no problems there, when I wiped I noticed a tiny stringy piece of blood. only about half a cm long. It reminded me of when you blow your nose too hard/too often and u rupture a vessel in your nostril, that kind of blood.
Freaked out a little bit, wiped again after 3 or 4 mins of just sitting there and didnt have anything else. So nothing really (thats what the logical side of my brain is telling me anyway!)
Just wondered if something similar has happened to anyone else. I did have some strange cramp like feelings yesterday but they were more in my stomach and after i ate they went away.
Sorry if thats too much information for mid morning but i dont want to freak out and phone the midwife if i dont have to. I've put a pantyliner on to see if anything else happens, but i feel ok....
we're 11 weeks today so I think im on edge about miscarrying anyway, as I had this horrid dream early on that i would miscarry week 12...
Any thoughts, really appreciatedWealth is not measured by currency0 -

If there's any bleeding, no matter how little you should contact your midwife. I had bleeding last week that turned out to be nothing but going to the midwife and listening to the heartbeat really put my mind at rest. If you're worried about bothering themover nothing don't be. I was told by mine that any bleeding in pregnancy is best to be checked out. Please call them now and not spend the next week or so worrying. :grouphug:26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

I've been with my Wife to all our appointments, glad i did too as we got to hear the heartbeat and I've got to say it made me shed a tear.
Also my wife felt the baby move for the first time last night and I have to say I'm a little jealous. she's 18 weeks now, how much longer till i can feel it?0 -

It wont be much longer untill you'll feel the little one kick!
My hubby loves hearing the heartbeat too

So are there a lot of appointments then? So far I've had a pre booking appointment and a 12 week scan and I've got dates for a 20 week scan and for 22weeks with MW but at doctor's surgery rather than maternity wing of hospital. No idea what happens after that
do checks become more regular? Or do you get left to carry on so long as nothing happens?
If you and baby are well-you won't have lots of appointments untill the end where the midwife tends to see you more often to measure you, listen to babys heart beat etc.
I have personally had loads-because of my high blood pressure. Not that im complaining-as ive had more scans etc and got to see our baby more!

(Had your bleeding stopped already by then?! )
:rotfl:I was going to ask that! Lucky duck slscarborugh! Mine went on for w e e k s!
I think it depends on your area as at my booking in everything was done together on the same day. I had my scan then saw the MW to go through all my medical history, take my bloods and the worst ever thing, my weight!:D.
My BP is at the higher end but luckily I don't need meds. I'm consultant led but she is happy with me at the mo and doesn't need to see me again unless the MW is concerned. I do however see my MW to have my BP checked every 2 weeks and I'm scheduled to have two extra growth scans....as well as the most horrid glucose tolerance test!.
DH has been to every single appointment with me and also the the same with Poppy. He feels its his way of supporting me as I'm doing all the donkey work! :rotfl:. He loves hearing the HB and I think it helps him bond too.
Jamz, shouldn't be too long now!
CAFC, please call your MW and put your mind at rest. I'm sure its nothing to worry about but all bleeding should be reported and honestly thats what they are there for. Lots of hugs xxx
I've had a horrible realisation that if this baby is as stubborn as my first then I may be in hospital for Christmas and miss all the excitement with Poppy. Hmmm, wonder if they will induce me early on the grounds of it being Christmas?!
:rotfl:.

Hi All
Thanks for advice. I did call MW and explained the blood etc. She asked if there had been any more and I told her no it was literally one strand and thats it. asked about cramps etc, but she told me not to worry and just keep an eye and if anything changes to call back, and if I want to go in, theyre happy for me to, even if its just to help to calm me down.
I did say after I'd spoken to her I felt a bit calmer was just the initial seeing it that sent me a bit loopy.
So feel a lot happier now, nothing else has happened since then, and MW was really nice. Like was said before u dont want to seem a bother if its nothing but then you dont know, and theyre the best people to advise so Im glad I got over that very British idea of not wanting to be a bother!
