I'm getting very fed up with trying to get tomtom working on this phone.

I've bought a Navman Spin 100, and tried a number of different versions of TOMTOM 5 - but can't get any of the darn things to work.

I bought TomTom Mobile 5 Software Pack - Smartphone (Benelux) (http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/12867.htm) but that just loads a garbaled screen.

Another version works until I get to choose a voice and then just freezes the thing up.

I've been trawling through this thread and am still none-the-wiser.

Someone mentioned Route66 - where is the best price to get that from? A trial would be good, as I don't want to buy any more software that I can't get to work!!!

Please help before all my hair gets pulled out

Your problem is that you have TomTom v5, and the Lobster only works with v5.2.

Don't worry, you've bought the right thing, you just don't appear to have upgraded it to 5.2 - you do this by downloading an update from the TomTom site. I think you would then apply that update to the files you got on the SD card with v5, before sticking the updated files onto the Lobster memory card.

So far no problems with running Route66 installed on my lobster until last week, the application wouldn't open properly, took ages to run and the main r66 screen wouldn't display correctly. I uninstalled the program and tried to re install without success. Now everytime I try to re install it fails and says 'At least one file is missing, please install again'.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Managed to get route66 installed ok but whenever you try to open the application it does the GPS circles thing then the app shuts down every time? Getting really frustrated with this now, had it all working fine!

Hi Folks,

Finally getting round to trying the gps on this, which bluetooth units have people used ??
Most people seem to have used the Navman Spin but they seem to be sold out most places....

Any others that work ??

I would def be looking at a sirf 3 unit - supposed to be the best.

I use the navman and the good thing about it was that it was cheap.

This from play is an excellent deal just now. Although the software isn't supposed to be up to much. Def look at obtaining tomtom mobile 5.2.

I'll have a look at that one :beer:. bit slow as i've just been using it as a fon for the last six months .

I want to have a better play with it now and use it as a satnav on my bike.
