What happens in January then? Surely all those phones within a year of purchase can tell Virgin that their phones no longer work properly? Perhaps they will offer money back??

I was going to ask if this code on ebay to unlock the Lobster for £2 was too good to be true, then I read his feedback and the disclaimer 'Leaving negative feedback on the basis of "It didnt work" Is a breach of the conditions of this auction.'

Have you put £30 on your phone yet? If you have the free unlock via virgin is the best way

I must have spent £30 on various phones in the years I've had the sim, I take it that is enough (as in I don't need to spend it on this phone...?)

Are you aka AlanJC by any chance?

As long as you have put £30 of credit on your sim during its active life you can e-mail or phone them and ask if they will unlock your phone. you'll need your IMEI number.

    no i'm not AlanJC, sorry

No you don't have to spend it on the phone - but request the unlock with the SIM you have spent the £30 on (can be PAYG or contract)

You need Automatic Keylock - WM5 version.

    A great little app.

I've tried to install this a couple of times but always get a message to the effect that the installation was not completed - something to do with permissions.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks

You need to "Application Unlock" your phone first.

    Instructions here.

It sounds complicated, but it's not really - just follow the instructions carefully and it takes about 5 minutes.

For step 2 I used the first program on the list (from breaksoft).

PM me if yoiu get stuck.
