Try the gsm / smartphone forums for ideas re software and map links. Also, consider Route66 instead of TomTom. I have both on my Lobby, but actually prefer Route66. Both work fine with the Spin100 gps receiver - which I also got.

Ok, thanks guys I will try that!
Sorry, which version of route 66 do you have working on your lobster?

You will also discover that the R66 maps are more recent than the TT ones, as TT no longer produce maps for mobile version 5.
The TMC (Traffic Management Channel) feature is handy. It can dial up over a data connection at a regular interval (that you can specify) and get the latest traffic jam and roadworks info. It can then re-route you around any local problems. In my experience, each time it dials up, the cost is 3p - so not bad really.

Your best bet is probably to call Virgin on 789 (costs 10p) and just tell them that the disc was missing from your phone package, or damaged and unreadable. They'll send you a new one in about a week. Had a problem with my headphones and they sent a new pair very quickly.

For those of you that want an easy £15 I signed up for mobilepanel research - although you do give away personal data and usage information.
You install a small application on your lobster which sends a couple of texts out and then calls home periodically to say how you are using your phone. In the first month it probably cost me 40-50p in text costs (for the initial set up) and gprs data.
So why do it? £15 for signing up and £5 a month for carrying on using it. The infomation is collected for a market research company - read the links before signing up. I've just received my £15 (in cash) so feel justified in recommending this - although I don't use the lobster much so I doubt I'll get the £5 a month - time will tell.

Hope this is useful to someone - after all it is money for doing relatively very little.0
