I have had a quote from WBAC for my Fiat Bravo 08 plate £3750, I have booked an appointment at Lakeside Essex on Sunday will let you know how I get on. If deal is not acceptable I will be putting car on Auto Trader.

Based on all the other newbies who join just to tell us about their positive experiences of WBAC, can i predict how that will go?

They seem to be blitzing the t'ternet at mo, new 5 star reviews on reviewcentre everyday

Virtually all bad reviews on trust pilot, reviews quite sporadic but they have suddenly started recieving loads of 5 star reviews in July coincidently by one off reviewers http://www.trustpilot.co.uk/review/www.webuyanycar.com

    LOL

Thats actually very funny reading... it goes from 'bunch of hateful !!!!!!s', 'thieves', 'highwaymen', 'time wasters' to all these newbies saying how great they are and how fair their valuation was and how 'fun' it was to sell a car to them...

I'm very tempted to report them to Trading Standards for a breach of this law...

    "18. A wolf in sheep’s clothing

trader is not acting for purposes relating to his/her trade,
business, craft or profession, or falsely representing
    oneself as a consumer.

Easy enough for TS to get the review sites to supply the IP addresses and compare these with the companies.

It would be far less suspicious if they gave varying stars between 3 and 5 as in real life people do not give 5 stars that often.

It looks to me like they are trying to obliterate the first few pages of the review sites with 5 stars to try and hide the [STRIKE]real[/STRIKE] negative reviews and to try and affect the average of the stars.

I'd be more inclined to believe these reviews from people who have made more than 1 review...

Here's their reviews up to early 2010 (Was it about then they were on Watchdog and in the Mirror?) http://web.archive.org/web/20100323172727/http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews169436.html

Same, I'm thinking about using them again instead of dealing with all the !!!!! that come to look at used cars.

    Baffles me.

You have to realise what Webuyanycar do- they arent in the business of selling cars really, the're in the business of selling expensive credit for which you a get a free car, effectively.

And from what I have seen recently, they are still ripping people off on PPI.

In some dealerships, it used to be a competition, as to who could rip off the most in one month.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

Guys - We Buy Any Car don't sell cars. You're talking about Car Craft and the guy who served me from WBAC was very keen to disassociate himself from them, even though they have the same parent company and his office is inside the branch of Car Craft. I agree with what you say about Car Craft's sales as when I was originally looking for a Streetka I looked at one they had and the mark up was ridiculous. I ended up getting an 05 plate car privately for much less than they were selling an 03 car for. Frequently they market cars that are a couple of years old for close to the retail cost you could get a new one for!
