  • Same here Googler!

I had a quote for my 04 Mazda 3 port saloon with 86k and fsh come backat £1160. Needless to say their quote was well off the mark and I will not be taking them up on it.

I remember a few months back getting a quote for my Ford Focus of around £500. Put it on Autotrader, 2 days later walked away with £2,000 as it was the cheapest in the country on the site.

Also...is anyone interested in the £40 m&s vouchers? I've just sold to we buy any car, if someone else does, we can both get the 40 pound voucher sent to us ???????

yes i have sold a car and interested in the m&s vouchers :)
  • Anyone who has sold a car to webuyanycar.com get in touch and we can both get £40 m&s vouchers.... btw i found them good to deal with, car had a lot of problems and would of felt bad selling it to someone other than these
  • So I thought it was time to post my thoughts on webuyanycar.com

I had a car which I pretty much had run into the ground, the guy at the garage that MOT'd it (and returned quite a few advice points) told me he'd give me £200 for it but understood it was an insult and was quite happy if I took it (I would guess he would be secretly whooping inside if I did!).

I thought I'd take a look at WBAC, I had put my reg in about 6 months before and seen an offer for about £600.

I put the details in (Poor mechanical condition & partial MOT history) and an offer of £815 came up. I thought this was a bit of a bonus and looked through the T&C's, for this I needed 2 keys and would be subject to the usual checks of the vehicle on site.

I was expecting some haggling and reckoned on coming away with perhaps half of that.

I then found you could adjust your initial assumptions on the website post offer, I went back and selected 1 key (Which weirdly you can't do in the beginning) and that I had no service history as I couldn't find the log book.

Weirdly it returned an offer of £915 which really made no sense to me but was there in front of me and confirmed by email etc etc. I made the appointment and prepared to offload my heap to them!

There was some annoyance as there were a few phone calls reminding me about the appointment AND an email AND a text message. It was a bit pushy / salesy but I wasn't deterred as I still reckoned on getting £400 which was double what the garage guy offered me. It was the last day of tax on the vehicle so I was hoping not to have to worry about retaxing and further insurance.

I had some trouble locating the office but gave them a call, the guy came out to met me as I drove in the car park. He had a check round the vehicle and made a note of a few scratches and a patch of rust (Here we go I thought!). He checked the ODO and the warning lights to see what was on (None thankfully!).

We sat in the office and he went through the MOT to ensure the miles were consistent, there was a HPI / DVLA vehicle database check it seemed to go well at this point!

'Ok so I've had a look round the car and I've had to make a note of this bit of rust' he said..... 'It shouldn't affect what we offer you so I can offer you the amount quoted'.

Inside I was :rotfl: hysterical :j and couldn't quite believe it as I didn't think it would be worth anywhere near what was quoted. I stayed focussed and composed, I acknowledged the transaction charge (trying to look slightly upset) and paid the £25ish fee for a next day transfer before they could change their mind!

The money (£840ish) arrived in my account today :T with not another word said!

I was really quite skeptical based on some of the things I had seen written, that said I had a realistic view of what it was worth in the condition and did ok out of it.

Just for fun I took a look at the new car I have and they have quoted me somewhere in the region of £1200 less than I could resell it for so it isn't all smelling of roses!

I do note they have a £40 M&S voucher offer for anyone who recommends a friend and £40 for anyone who takes up their friends offer!

Please PM me if you want to try and claim this as I can submit the form and see if we can both make an additional £40!

That's funny, they offered me £315 for a car thats worth a £1000 all day long, and thats before they have even seen it, full service history, virtually perfect condition.

They offer you the lowest prices and knock you down further when you get there, avoid at all costs.

That's not my experience on this one much to my surprise! As I mention at the end of my post they didn't offer too well for my current car when I enquired out of interest.

    Absolute rubbish.

Which bit, the price they offered or what I said? :)
  • My friend sold her Vauxhall Corsa Limited Edition that was 1 year old and had 3k miles on it to WBAC a couple of months ago and they gave her more than the dealer would. They didnt knock her down from her online quote either, this was at Newhaven.

She needed a quick sale due to getting company car and eBay didnt get any biters. She was really pleased with WBACs service.
