    Afternoon guys.
Hope you are all ok. Just wanted to let you all know i am keeping up with thread but dont always have much to say.
Having a great day money wise today, forgot child benifit was due, and i hadnt budgeted for it so almost `spare cash`, and had letter from tax credits and they owe me money and my weekly payments are going up!!!
So going to spend some wisely and finally buy the bricks to finish our patio which we did last year.
Felling good about everything, most bills already paid and its not payday until friday!!!
Oh this dmp was the best move we ever did wish we had done it sooner.
    Take care everyone

    Hi Everyone.

Well no news in the post from Barclaycard or Capital One again so looks like I'm going to have to ring them which I don't really want to do but want to know if they have accepted reduced payments. All this waiting is getting on my nerves now. Why can some reply in a few days and others take weeks and some claim never to have received any correspondence which I find somewhat surprising!!!

Sold a few things on Ebay and made £30 so far (not much but it helps and my house will be tidier).

    dlb:- Congrats on extra cash.

valleygirl:- Is your Barclays debt a loan, cc or overdraft. Barclays rejected my payment for my loan a/c and i'm still waiting to hear from Barclaycard.

totallyfedup:- Sorry to hear about CCJ.

    Hi.

My OH has been going on about a holiday in Florida for next year. This is something we have promised the kids for years and she has now booked it for November 2008 !!!!!!

I must admit we have got a very good deal as she argued with the company we are going with (Virgin) were misleading with their free child places and after much haggling got 12.5% off the price. The deposit was paid from money we have put aside from Boot fairs/Ebay etc and we can do this carrying on with the boots and so on.

Now to the crux. I should be really excited but I just feel so Bl**dy guilty as i am in a DMP and we should not be flying off to the sun.

We have only had I holiday abroad in 6 years. Am i wrong to think like this or do you think that just because I am in a DMP I should not be thinking about expensive holiday.

A bit down tonight in Chez monkey.

    Good morning.

Hope you are all well. For those of you that read my earlier post I have cheered up a bit over work tonight. I have had a good think and it is not as if I am doing anything illegal by going on holiday in 18 months time :rotfl: .

It just seems a big expense when I could be putting it towards my debt but as it will mostly be paid from extra money that we will earn doing boots etc it does not seem so bad. I also get a bonus from work every year which should more or less pay for it.

I suppose ,also, that i do not want you all to think that I am not taking this DMP seriously by going on holiday and i do value your opinion.

You can probably tell that this is beating me up a bit at the moment and i am between a rock and a hard place but with 7 years ahead of the DMP and my family being so understanding I just want them to have something to look forward too. I suppose as well i feel a bit of a fraud I have said to my creditors that i have little money and then I am off on holiday.

Sorry i am not my usual self this morning and i do not want to put a downer on your day but i just had to 'confess'how i felt about this. I think I am just trying to justify to myself the expense given my situation.

Did not mean to go on so long as this is not a normal 'monkey' post but like everbody else I have bad days and just need to let how i feel out sometimes and it is easier to do on here. My OH nows how i feel and i must admit i will look forward to the holiday when it comes around but at the moment i feel a bit contradictory with myself.

Right I am going to stop there as I am waffling and get myself ready for my 14 togger as I am off to bed later. If you are reading this early in the morning and you have not looked out the window yet dont bother its horrible :rotfl:

    Speak later

    Dont feel bad yellowmonkey.
Everyone needs a holiday, and just because your on a dmp doesnt mean your not allowed to!
Plus why wait until dmp is over, i know if i did my kids would be 5 years older and would have missed out on lots of fun.
We went to florida just before starting our dmp, and a good lump sum of our debt was made from this hoilday, but you know what i wouldnt have missed that hoilday for anything, Florida is a lifechanging family hoilday, infact it is what keeps me going, as our end off dmp dream is to return to where the magic lives only this time paying cash and not on credit!!LOL
I spend most nights pricing up hoildays online, and put a little away each month to our `florida fund`, we all have to have fun and chill out.
Dmp isnt a prison sentence we can still have a life.
    Hugs ((((())))
