    hi all
The sun is shining here today so feel a bit more positive

Just wanted to ask as it is mentioned in some posts can on a dmp they make you sell your house if you have equity to release (as mortgage is a secured debt as long as you are paying this should it be okay?)
I am worried as ours is through c&g which is part of same group as Lloyds and we owe the most money to them(llloyds) The equity in our home would not pay off our debts anyway. We have never missed a mortgage payment.
I mentioned this to cccs and the guy advised it would not benefit them to do this anyway but i am still worried about this. I am trying to take each day as it comes.
did really well this week with shopping although dmp not yet started i spent about £60 on food and normally spend about £90.

will have to go bye for now take care everyone.:j

bowz - What you have heard about is called a Charging Order. A charging order can only be made by a judge and they cannot make you sell your home. It means that if you decided to sell your home your creditors would have a claim on the equity. As long as you continue to pay your mortgage on time and do not miss any payments it is highly unlikely that your home could be at risk. Have a look at the CCCS website it has information about Charging Orders (under the frequently asked questions section I think).

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Teecee
i did look on cccs website, i read about charging orders turning an insecured loan into a secured loan, i was only worried as mortgage with c&g and most of debts is to lloyds. (think they are part of same group). Anyway will have to see and take each day as it comes.

Glad you had a good car boot and that your dd enjoyed the clothes you bought her. My dd is the same but she is always grateful for things too, this may change as she is just 12.

I am just about to start selling on ebay, i have bought from ebay b4 but never sold anything, so just sorting some stuff out now. A post office just opened within 150 yards from our home so very useful.

    bye for now everyone.

    :hi all,
just a quick visit.all is quiet with the post.nothing to report, which sounds boring, i know, especially when i think back a few months before DH knew about debts and had panic attacks everytime postie came ,trying to get there first and hide the evidence.its so hard when you are at that place in time and unbeliveable to look back to when you thought there would be no end, then you seem to turn a small corner, gain a victory or two(however small)and seem alittle more able to cope.
im so glad i have you lot (xx)on our thread for your continuing help and support.i read the new posters and think "thats where i was!" and i know it wil be ok for all of us, cos it wasnt a small step we took, it was deffo a giant leap.
i keep looking back and say
    THANKYOU. XXXX :T :T :A
(sorry, got abit carried away, but you know what i mean:o )
    regards,xx
People bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with :)

Hi loubie-lou, Payplan do do a letter which they can send you for you to photocopy. It has a place for your ref. no. as well as an amount to send. I sent 1.00 mostly as a simple token payment. Hope you get on ok. The banks seem happier when they get it.

We are still waiting for our banks to accept or reject our reduced payments so hopefully they will soon as we are racking up interest at the moment.

Hope everyone else is ok. I spent 50.00 last week on food but shouldn't need to spend much this week. Finished off that second pasta with broccoli on Sat. evening. :)
  • Hi
Sorry I haven't been around much lately it is because I am suffering with my health at the moment._pale_
Hope everyone is well and your not having to much trouble with the postie.
Hi to all the newbies
    I like our new home.

Just an update on my situation 5 out of my 7 creditors have accepted, but having mega problems with littlewoods and barclays.
I have rung littlewoods because they sent a letter dated the 10/05 which I received today, saying they will instruct Mercers debt collections if I don't pay up. They are saying that they have recieved no letters from me or budget sheets. I think they are pulling a fast one, I have to ring next monday to see if they have received my letter, he also said the minimum(sp) Payment they will accept is £16.00 per month not my £3.88.
I am going to send them another letter and post it recorded delivery and see how it goes.
Just wanted to vent sorry hope it makes sense.:)
    Take care

I have a lot of debts with Lloyds and they have eventually accepted, it took a long time for the bank account to - but I complained at the length of time it took and they refunded some interest. Just keep at them and good luck!

I got a letter today from a debt collecting agency to say that I had missed a payment, but I reckon GE are not letting them know so I copied them with bank statement (details blanked out not applicable!) and wait to see what they say.

    Hello everyone.

Seems like ages since I've been on here.

No news really it has been quite quiet. I don't know if thats good or not!. I did get a letter from HSBC saying that there very sorry for all the phone calls we have received and they have taken our number of all their records. So thank you agin craftingqueen your letter seems to have done the trick.

Valley girl: Hope you feel better soon! And congrats on the acceptance of your DMP 5 out of 7 is really good. I only have 1 out of 5 so far but i'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Ilovegreatdanes: Thats really sweet I'm sure a lot of us feel the same I know I do.

Amani: I'm don't think that 'no information' means its closed. I have got the same thing with our A&L account. They wrote to us and said that because we are entering into a DMP they would have to supend our banking facilities on our account. So although it is not closed it is unusable.

Craftingqueen: Good news about Northern Rock. I'm sure that all the acceptances will come flooding in now.

    Back to work now -Sweety

  • Hello Everyone! Sorry haven't been around much (again) life just seems to be so busy these days.

Warrior (evil barstewards) issued the CCJ and it was awarded for £35 more than our monthly payment which COULD have caused us problems BUT DH has had a payrise and it's actually covered the extra plus another £25 a month to our other creditors so that's good news. We could have gone and done a Variation Order and perhaps if we'd not had this payrise we'd have gone down that route but as it stands we've decided to pay it.

Egg loan have passed us over to a DCA, no news on the Egg cc so assuming all is okay there unless they too decide to send that to a DCA but that's okay with me, not too worried about that now.

MBNA have finally accepted Payplans offer, as have Halifax cc, Halifax loan, YB loan, YB account overdraft, Next, Citi cc.

I made a booboo with my Halifax acc - should have closed it down when balance was £0.00 but didn't and Halifax loan came out leaving me £97 into my overdraft and no money going in. Spoke with them on phone today and have agreed to make a small payment every month till it's cleared and they're happy with that.

So we're all pretty much sorted, I know that some do 6 monthly reviews and some do 12 monthly reviews so I'll be hassled again a few months down the line but I feel like I'm stronger and in a much better place with myself iykwim?
It's been bloody hard, I won't lie - official looking letters and the phone ringing still cause me to panic slightly but nowhere near as bad as I was at the start of this.

I am disgusted with myself for allowing ourselves to get into this mess but by the same token, I'm damned proud that we've taken full responsibility for our debt and will ensure that every last penny is paid off.

Thank you to each and everyone of you that has been there with kind words and support over the last few months, at times I couldn't even face coming on here such were the dark days but you've all been wonderful, this little house is wonderful and anyone able to give advice and support on here needs to know that you really are making a difference to someone!

Sorry, getting a little slushy there but honestly, I just want to say Thank You and I will be back and I will do my best to answer questions and give back some of the support shown to me!

Proud to be dealing with my debits although I have to admit I am scared half to death at how big a mess we are in.  Don't think I will EVER forgive myself for being so stupid!
