    hi all,
YM......agree with the others re your hols.just cos we are on a dmp doesnt mean we have to wear sackcloth and ashes and berate ourselves everytime we get a bit of extra money and it doesnt go to the dmp.

    Hi everyone,
Sympathies about the car - we are currently car-less and having a nightmare trying to find one within our budget that isn't a reject from rent-a-wreck!!!

Good news this week - First Direct want to amalgamate my credit card balance into my overdraft and have confirmed this means 8.5% interest instead of 17% so that's something for starters.

Letter through today from GE Money (who were harrassing me on the phone), to say they accept the DMP and will suspend all charges and interest temporarily - but don't say how long for. Still this is a HUGE bonus.

Just need to hear from Mint (owe them the most). Hopefully they will agree just as easily. :o

Bad news is that with no car, and no car likely to appear too soon, from the stuff we've been chasing up, money will be really tight as buses for the two of us cost nearly 3 times more than the monthly car/petrol allowances. Gonna be a struggle that we could really do without :(
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?
  • I agree with you on the buses front its costing me £4.70 today and thats only 3 buses my childminder is kindly giving me a lift home tonight so it could be alot more!! makes me realise how reliant I am on the car - and my feet hurt one I jarred my toe in the accident and I now have blisters on the balls of my feet with so much walking!!! Its nice to be in the real world again - realised yesterday that LO had never been on a bus and she is 2! She was a bit nervous but loved bragging to her gran about the bus ride!

My post wasn't hear when I cam out but my letters have slowed down alot I got one from A&L about my loan arrears they don't seem to have heard I am on a DMP so with have to remember to write to them.

Have a nice rest of day everyone. Keep smiling.

YM I am going on holiday in June it is our first for four years, only to Skeg Vegas accommodation is all paid for but we have not much spending so its ebay for me and contents of food cupboard going on holiday!

We have to live a DMP means that I can live more comfortably now and I have learnt to budget and pay monthly for holidays.

Oh and we have the excitement of cashing in our under 5p coke bottle that is two years in the making - we should have a sweepstake on how much is in there lol!

Hi everyone how are you all doing?

Car failed it's MOT so that is going to cost about £160. Won't get it back until tomorrow so DH will have to drive me into town tomorrow. Buses are one every hour and a half and take an hour for a 15 min journey.

On the positive side had an interview today for a part-time temporary job and it went really well. Will hear tomorrow if I got it or not but they were really positive and sounded like they were just going through the formality of interviews because they had too. It's subject to an enhanced disclosure but because I have never been bad :p there should be no problem there. Fingers crossed for me.

Rayday our last two holidays have involved the kitchen cupboard as we go camping and are going to Mull again in May. We go to what is called a wild campsite. There is a toilet block but that is it. There are no site fees and it is on a beautiful beach so it is very popular which means we can't drive anywhere while we are there as there would be nowhere to park on our return. It means we have to make sure we have everything we need for the length of time we are there as we can't go shopping. We will just go there for a couple of nights then move onto a regular campsite as I can't live without a shower for that long.

YM we have an endowment policy which matures in 10 years so we plan to use that for a decent foreign holiday just before our DS hopefully flies the coop:rotfl: It is not needed for our mortgage as we changed to a repayment one when we moved 5 years ago. However will continue to try and save enough (and not use it) so we can go back to Cyprus before then.

Hello everyone its been a while since ive been on but i got a text from the natwest bank today asking me to call them asap so i did.

a few weeks ago i got a letter from them telling me that if by the 20th of this month i did not pay all i ow them they will file for default, well o spoke to a women this afternoon and she was very nice and told me the problem was i hadnt returned my card & chequebook to them so as far as they were concernd my DMP had not been agreed to.

she put a note on the account and told me to get the cards and cheque book to the branch tomorrow this i agreed to of course.

since 5pm tonight ive now had 5 calls from Natwest all demanding the monies i owe and asking for token payments.

I know that want there money but this is getting silly i told each caller the same thing they just go oh well can you pay more do you want to consolidate the loan & overdraft etc etc.

everthing seemed to be going so well all the calls stoped as soon as my DMP was up & running all my other creditors seem happy Capital one even wrote to me to inform me what was happening with the account now iam in a DMP with the cccs.

    this i so annoying

I totally agree with what everyone has said, you should'nt feel guilty, I think we do that enough. The children will love it, they grow so fast.

    Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo campers!!!

Oooh, I was all confused trying to find our thread. Can't believe I missed the big changeover day

I must apologise for my absence of late. I had a bit of a disaster in that my faulty fan caused my laptop to blow up and corrupt the registry files so it was offline for ages. Fixed it last night but my whole hard drive has been wiped (apart from some of my music - always a bright side!). Feel sad about my photos etc and lost some important docs, not to mention two years of school work. Of course, I should've backed it all up but I didn't as the cost of an external harddrive is not good, and I've got nothing to back up now so what's the point??! :rotfl: Still need to replace my fan, so if I disappear again, you know what's happened!

Anyway, I can't stay on for long as I'm up at the crack to drive down sourfth for a course. Will hopefully find time to catch up on the many threads soon.

Hope you are all well. Missed you lots (kept thinking "oh I wonder how so-and-so is getting on...").

    Big hugs,

    smilealot :rolleyes2
