    Hello folks!

I started posting on the other thread before it was closed to start this one! Could i be a member please?!

I had may initial payplan phone call on Monday and my case officer shall be calling me next week!

What i wanted to ask is how much should i send to my creditors as token payments? How should i phrase my letters etc? Do i quote my payplan reference number or should i let payplan do that themselves?

    Oh so confused!!

    Welcome Loubie_Lou.

Send whatever you can afford!! Some people on this thread sent £1 others sent half the normal monthly minimum. It is really up to you anything is fine as a token payment because it is just that ......a token.
It merely informs your creditors of your willingness to pay and that you have taken advice from a third party and will be dealing with your debts.

It is in their interests to accept the DMP because at least you are making efforts to repay your debts and they know they will receive something each month.

I'm with CCCS and they issue standard forms to photocopy and send to your creditors informing them of the DMP (not sure if PayPlan do this) quote your DMP reference number on all correspondance and include a letter asking that they do not contact you by telephone but in writing only. Send all token payments and letters in writing and make payments by cheque, this way you can tell if they have been received. Many companies will deny that they have received anything just to enable them to drag their feet and get as much out of you as possible.

Good Luck and well done on taking that first brave step to face and sort out your debt:D We are hear to help if we can and offer support whatever keep posting and again Good Luck!

    loubie-lou.

I am in a DMP with Payplan and i did the following.

I have a draft letter that smilealot sent me (I will PM it to you). Send this with your token payment . I sent £5 to each. On this quote your Payplan ref if you have it and advise that they will be in touch shortly.

Payplan for me have been very good and good luck on your path to finacial freedom.

    morning everyone,

Teecee congrats on the third star :j AT LAST.

Welcome newbie loubie-lou (thought that sounded nice, so had too put it).

ILGD know what you mean about the shopping I spent £130 this week (YM AND DLB, DONT SHOUT AT ME). Hope DS feels better soon.

bowz25 thats awful about the calls at work, it gets me so angry when they do that. hope they are never in that sittuation. also hope they stop now.

we had two statements yesterday MBNA and VIRGIN MONEY both have their first payment from CCCs on them. They have not said they have excepted the DMP, but they have both stopped interest and no charges have been added. so quite pleased with that.

  • Hi,

Been quiet for us lately, been plodding on a few phone calls and letters. So far 4 creditors out of 14 have accepted our dmp.
One real surprise was Northern Rock, with all the phoning at my husbands work.Their legal dept sent hubby letter informing him they will not phone him for the next 28days.Then yesterday they wrote to say they where accepting the dmp. That really surprised us big time.

    HI AGAIN,

Forgot to say, hubby has an OD with halifax. He went to check his account, to see if more charges and interest had gone on while we were in town, the Atm took his card and said transaction complete. He checked his account online when he came home and it said INFORMATION only  does this mean it is now closed??????????

    hi all
The sun is shining here today so feel a bit more positive

I am just about to send details to cccs with all letters to creditors etc.
Spoke to lloyds cc yesterday and told them would be sending token payments and 10 mins after the calls the phone rang again and it was lloyds again but we did not answer, does their left hand know the right is doing!!!! As we are a week late with our cc payments they have rang at work and home several times a day we find it unbelievable and i am going to mention this to cccs tomm when i ring them. (call centre seems to be in india as well and whilst they were very polite it was a difficult conversation. I am a few day late now with 3 more cc payments so letters being sent soon . I really do not want anymore calls to work.

Anyway hope everyone else is okay and thanks for my number (67) on the dmp support.
Just wanted to ask as it is mentioned in some posts can on a dmp they make you sell your house if you have equity to release (as mortgage is a secured debt as long as you are paying this should it be okay?)
I am worried as ours is through c&g which is part of same group as Lloyds and we owe the most money to them(llloyds) The equity in our home would not pay off our debts anyway. We have never missed a mortgage payment.
I mentioned this to cccs and the guy advised it would not benefit them to do this anyway but i am still worried about this. I am trying to take each day as it comes.
did really well this week with shopping although dmp not yet started i spent about £60 on food and normally spend about £90.

will have to go bye for now take care everyone.:j

    Hi Everyone,

    Hope you are all ok.

crafting queen - Great news about Northern Rock :j :j maybe now you will get some peace!

I have been up since 5am, did a carboot this morning and made just under £90 . So very happy and worth the lack of sleep.

    I have a confession to make.....I spent £60 yesterday:eek:
Treated DD to some lovely summer tops and trousers and shorts and sunglasses and sandals......Shall I go on???

It was lovely to be able to treat her, it seems like such a long time ago that I bought her anything nice. She was really chuffed and it made my day to see her face light up when I handed the stuff to her.

So just as well I did a carboot today!!!

    Anyhoo must go,

Speak Later, have a lovely evening everyone.

    xx
