It was for the advice :T .

Sometimes I have so much to say that I could spend all day on here and other days with things going on I just pop in and read. Sometimes I am at work and other times my OH wants to talk and gets humpy when I am on here too long.

I enjoy the long posts personnally so dont you go and start doing a synopsis of everthing you want to say. You go right ahead and say it.:T

    Take care

Hi I keep on getting calls from HSBC card services even though I have told them and written to hsbc informing them of dmp. Do I just take the call and pay the £7 they want or do I just leave it??!! WOuld appreciate any help.
Am having a major panic about all this now can someone try to put me at ease???!!!

3 words. Just leave it. They are aware of the DMP but they are just trying to put pressure on you in the hope that you will crack. If they was to get the extra this month you leave yourself wide open for when they call again in a few months and want just a little bit more.

Be strong a lot of the creditors use this tactic in the hope you will crumble. If you just state that your are on a DMP and they have your I &E and are unable to contribute any more they will finally give up.

    Good luck

    Hi toasti.

Answer the phone if you wish but just say that you are on a DMP with CCCS and quote your ref number. Do not get embroiled into a conversation. As you say they have this info and the person on the other end is not in the slightest bit interested in your predicament. All he wants is a bonus for getting more out of you. You will not be rude by hanging up if they ignore you just stick to your guns. If you have caller ID or even an answer phone put this on. Can you say to them that it is ok if you record this call. You are legally bound to inform them if you are going to record a call. Even if you do not have this facility pretend by using a hole punch or stapler to make a clicking sound. This generally scares them off.

If it gets to much contact your phone provider and tell them you are getting nuisance calls and they may change your number for you.

Do not give in just say I am on a DMP with CCCS and my ref number is as follows. Ask them to contact CCCS as they are dealing with this for you.

Another way is to not give out any details to them ie date of birth etc as ,as far as you know, they could be anybody and you do not give out personal details over the phone. Without this they cannot proceed.

    All the best

To be honest, GE Money were calling me 3 times a day - every day and I found it easier to wait till I was angry and then answer it!!! ;)

I told them about my DMP gave them my CCCS number and each time they confirmed they already had it on their system. Three days later the calls started again. Finally, one guy said the others should have put a stop on the phone calls on the system and did that for me!

When First Direct rang I just said it wasn't convenient and they asked me to ring back - when I finally found the courage - they wanted to tell me they accepted the DMP and were reducing interest to about 1/3rd of what I was paying - this was only a few days after they'd received info from CCCS.

So it isn't ALWAYS bad news on the phone calls. :o And even when the calls stopped for about 3 days at a time, I found this caused less grief than the constantly having to ignore a ringing phone! :rotfl:

So, pick it up if you are 100% sure you will not give them anything other than your DMP details ;)

    Hi

toasti. I know it is daunting and stressfull dealing with this but you will come out of this stronger. The people on the other end of the phone are a pain in the neck to be honest but by dealing with them you will feel better even if you get nowhere.

We have all got into our situations by different means but we are still human beings and in some cases parents and whatever we have done we do not deserve to be treated with utter contempt by these people. The people on the other end are normally young and are just starting in life and they probably think it is great sport to pester us. They will probably go down the pub after and charge it to their CC and we will see them on here in a few years.

Sorry if that was a sweeping statement and i mean no offence to the youngsters out there but just getting something off my chest.

    Hi.

Have just read my last post and i do not mean to cause offence to the younger generation out there who are in the same boat.

Think i was standing on my soap box when i wrote that so if any one takes offence I am sorry.

They are a pain in the neck though (the people on the phone not youngsters in general:rotfl: )
