ILGD I for one will not be talking to you after you betrayed the SECRET CODE  :rotfl: :rotfl: I think you have gone BONKERS :rotfl:

If I was in a situation where as I did not own my house and I was looking at 25yrs on a DMP, I would also go BR. thankfully my DMP is for 7yrs and I can live with that. eripmav maybe BR will be better for you.

ILGD Also you were talking about not been able to set up DD'S for your creditors, as some are sneaky and might take more money than offered. Can a Standing order be set up instead as they can not take more money with them, you are in control of an SO.

    Morning guys and girls.
Hope your all getting great weather where you are, sunshine all ways seems to cheer me up, even when the postie brings nasty letters!!

I havent had another phone call from Cahoot ( the company which has taken over from my monument credit card) so im hoping my talking over them and hanging up tactic has worked.
Has anyone else got this company on their DMP? I would have thought that because they have bought the company that agreed to my dmp that the new company would also have to accept it??
But if they dont, tough will just have to except it or take me to court!!

ERIPMAV i dont know much about B/R but its worth looking into as ILGD said you cant let money rule your life, its took me a long time to realise that, and yes the dmp was the best move i ever made, it has made me more confident in sorting problems out, more aware of my rights, and my budgeting skills are getting better by the day.
I actually still have money in the bank from pay day 3 weeks ago!! This time 18 months ago it would all be gone the same day i got paid!!!

I know its hard as you are £41 sort but as said before is there no way you can find this from somewhere else in your budget, shopping for me is the one place iv cut back loads gone from £480 a month on food/toiletries to £200-£250. And we dont eat less we just eat better and more homemade stuff.
    Good luck.

    Morning all.

Glad you are having nice weather dlb. Bit misty way down south at the moment although hopefully that will change later and the smell of BBQ's will permiate the air as I go to work this afternoon

Nothing to report but I have emailed my case officer at Payplan to notify them of my new balances as they keep adding interest at the moment. That will be nice when it stops.

Hope you all have a smashing Sunday

Morning dlb and YM Nice to hear from you both. Bit misty here too North, sure it will be nice soon though when the sun gets through. Got some washing out and some more in the machine (my washing never goes down).

Hope everyone is well and your all enjoying the lovely weather.

Ilgd I wonder if it is because I am not working that they would not accept me or maybe they have changed their criteria, and you must now have 100 pounds spare per month, mind you the woman I spoke to wasn't very helpful.
I know my circumstances aren't going to change but I must admit I did comtemplate going down the BR route. But I couldn't afford the fee, none of my family know of my debt problems, I couldn't bear to worry them. I did confide in a friend who convinced me to contact all my creditors, he promised that he wouldn't tell anyone but I am sure he has, I know it sounds silly but I feel annoyed over that. You live and learn.
I am so pleased that I can post on here and vent it really does help knowing everyone understands.

Eripmav I hope everything works out for you, try if you can and ring http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/ tomorrow they are really understanding and maybe they will help you decide which route to go down. I am glad I have set up the arrangements with my creditors although I know it is only for six months but it gives me some breathing space.
    Have a great day all

    Morning all

DLB Cahoot are one of mine. I owe them just under £10K and they are getting £21 a month or something like that. They were fine to deal with. I think they did a default and that was that.

    Hope everyone is well.

Just reading about some of your troubles. CCCS told me that if they have to offer creditors £1 a month then so be it. I have £98 a month for creditors although this has now risen to £117.

Money is very tight with the missus, she has her own "problems" so to speak. So I can't really ask her for any to top up the money needed for a DMP.

For the last two to three years, I literally had to make £150-200 a month on Ebay to actually pay my bills. I only realised a few months back that for all of the stress I go through every month trying to get all of the money together, it's simply not worth it.

I do think that BR is the way to go now, I'm just scared of doing it and potentially going to court over it:/ I'm not fussed aboout having a bad credit status in truth. I think it would be easier having a chat with someone who has been through it all or someone who truly knows the ins and outs.

As I've not been able to get a real DMP sorted and that I've literally been left to my own devices, I think that BR would be the best solution. To simply have a few quid left every month to be able to buy my son a little toy or something daft like take him to Woolies for some sweets is something I've not done ever since he was born and I'd love to be able to do so. As I said though, it's a matter of getting the £500 or so needed to actually go through it all!

  • Hi Eripmav
I am glad that you are sounding more positive and have decided to go down the Br route, I can understand you are feeling anxious (sp) about it but try not to worry.
Regarding the 500 pound why don't you do some ebaying and amazon to make a bit extra cash.
If I was you I would go to the CAb and get some advice on your Br I am sure they will be able to help.
I know what you mean about buying your little un something nice but don't beat your self up about it, when I got divorced I did nothing but spend on my cards to spoil my son, I now know material things mean nothing.
The only thing I hope is my son doesn't get into the debt like I have, although he has promised that he will never own a credit card, I hope that he sticks to his guns. I hope that didn't sound patronising I mean it in a nice way
You take care and Good luck on what you decide to do.
