    I second and third that!

The last week or so has taught me that family first and all the other stuff much further down the list. We had major worries about getting to visit MIL in hospital so I have done the really anti MSE thing and thought sod it and set up an ISA so I never have to face family or money worries again - the ultimate emergency emergency fund - you just never plan on family becoming seriously ill.

    Good morning

Can't believe I'm the first on here today. Yellow Monkey where are you?

Work for me today. Have done a packed lunch so no excuse to waste £3 on lunch from canteen today. DD is having a cooked lunch at school today as it's her favourite spag bol so that's £1.85.

Anyway better go. Hope you all have a good day.

    Good morning all

No news to report DMP wise but i have had a success story already today.

A few months ago I purchased a sat nav system (pre LBM). It devoloped a fault so taday I took it back to the store I brought it from. I had the receipt but it was purchased on my old account which is no longer valid as i have changed bank accounts. They started off saying that I could only have an exchange as the account for a refund was now different. The sat nav was now on special offer and was reduced by £25. When i mentioned this i asked if I would get a refund of the difference. I was told no that i was only entilted to an exchange. Any way to cut a long story short I stuck to my guns and demanded a refund and asked to see a manager. After being told that there are no exceptions they made an exception and refunded the total cost onto my new card and account.as i did not want to purchase another sat nav from them.

    3 things to point out.

    1... Always keep a receipt

    2...stick to your guns

3...mention the consumer credit act. Their attitude changed when i mentioned that.

Confession to make. I will be buying a cheaper sat nav as i got lost on the way home :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: .

God that was a long post so i will wish you all well and hope you all have a good day

Morning all. Well done YM on the refund.

Did a snowball on my FD to include the interest rate they are saying and it will take me 71 months to pay it off :( Thats 10 months longer than if they stopped interest completely. Hopefully everyone else will stop interest so that after the 61 ish months on the DMP I will be able to pay the whole debt payment to them and clear it quicker - was hoping this would only last 5 years ;)

On a brighter note, ordered some weekly bus tickets on Friday online and they say 5 working days to deliver... They arrived today! That's a huge relief as this week alone is likely to cost at least £35 in travel and that meant no food money! So at least my bus fare is sorted for me and OH right up until payday. ;) At least one thing is going to be ok :o
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?
  • Morning all..

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Also a small success story this morning. Finally after over 2 months had a cheque from South West Trains in the post to refund a 75 quid taxi fare I had to cough up for when a South West Trains failure left me stranded. I had got permission and the name of the station manager but South West Trains made this as difficult as possible...claiming I hadn't sent the taxi receipt, then made me send a bank statement showing payment to prove I had purchased train tickets for the journey etc. Got there in the end though!

CCCS are getting in touch with my creditors this week and hopefully making them an offer. Have no idea how this works, and the what criteria is for creditors accepting..but my fingers are firmly crossed.

I have to say a big big thanks to who ever recommended the Cooperative Bank for a new current account.
Just been on the phone to them.Really friendly and helpful.
Application for current account and debit card accepted, registered for internet banking and debit card in post. I only applied last Wednesday.
