Right ok. Anyone any good at maths????
First Direct said my new overdraft interest rate on my DMP would be 6.5% - what is that per month on £7,800??
Anyone know? (I think they've charged me more than that but my maths isn't so great as to be able to ring up and argue it)working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Thanks. It's not a loan but an overdraft. Have posted on the current account thread and someone kindly worked it out for meMy maths lessons were about 17 years ago so I know how you feel!!
I know that Great Universal catalogue is the same as Littlewoods (same stuff in it and everything). I think Kays might be linked too but am not 100% sure.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Just found it:By the year 2000, Kays was still a trading, published catalogue business but was now part of a GUS company known as Argos Retail Group.
Hope that helps. Link is here http://www.thecatalogshop.co.uk/catalogue-history/kays-catalogue.phpworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

hi all,
YM.....big hugs and positive thoughts to you.hope all goes really well.please keep in touch when you can. xx
ONAMISSION....well done at court.small victory again. cant believe cccs wanted the iva.i only have £69 to spare for my 13 creditors so dont know where they get £100 or more to have a dmp.just being nosey but,......can i ask where you are being posted abroad???hope its somewhere wonderful:D
foned this morn for my review.should have been after 5pm today but couldnt wait(was scared really!!!) but man was really nice and everything is bout the same but put up the mortage and the prescription charge and took off the gas.felt really guilty juggling the figures but he said it was ok and not to worry as EVERYONE has debt.he has.says no point doing a guilt trip and not to worry as im plodding on and they are all getting paid....however long it takes.said dmp was best for me and ivas are not the wonderful thing portayed on tv.IF all the creditors agree(and they all have to) you must have at least £200 ish a month to throw at the debt and if you miss a SINGLE payment in the 5 years thy can still go for bankruptcy.....and in the 4th year they can check how much equity you have and grab that!!!
if i was renting and had no kids then he said i should go b/r but cos i have half a house, iykwim, and a DS then a dmp is best, even if it takes me 25 years(best not to dwell on that bit!!!)
am going now.take care everyone.regards, xxPeople bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with

Hi everyone!
Hope you are all doing OK, will try to catch up but so many posts!0 -
Since i started my DMP in March all has been silance on the phone and no letters from my creditors i did get a letter from the Nat West saying they will issue a default notice but that has gone now and still no calls.
The thing is aswell i dont know if any of my creditors have accepted the DMP yet, no one seems to know if they have or not i asume the two credit card companies have coz they have both writen to me reqarding my account now its in a payment plan but the two banks i owe to dont seem to have a clue iam in a DMP
The HSBC & Nat west have called me every day since monday i answer the call and tell them the same thing over & over but they still call, its as if the person i speak to has no idea iam dealing with the cccs aswell its amazing iam paying the money to cccs i get the statments every month and when i qoute the amounts to the banks they say oh yes i see youve made some payments to your accounts but they ask me if the payment plan has been accepted i called cccs and they say they have not herd anything to suggest the payment offer has been refused.
I did do one positive thing yesterday i called the cccs and changed my budget i got a new job and a nice monthly rise and also reduced some of my travel expenses aswell the thing is my payments to cccs was £179 a month and this figure has now risen to £411 a month:eek: bit of a shock and as much as i look at the budget it looks a bit steep, should i call the cccs with my concerns i should have questioned the cccs rep more yesterday but i was taken by the fact at that rate my debt will be payed off in 4 years not 12 at the original £179 a month.
Anyway its nice to be dealing with my debt :j0 -
Afternoon all
YM - hugs hope things look better in your world today!
I got the offer from HSBC its about 85% :j of what we asked for and enough to clear the o/d!!! YAY. Just got to send the acceptance letter off now and should be in the account within two weeks. Have to start chasing Abbey now! :j Anyone hesitating claiming don't just go for it - what have you got to loose!! All the letter templates are on the reclaiming charges forum!!
Also phoned HSBC as got peculiar letter from them re the loan saying payments not enough etc, spoke to a foreign lady and after some confusion gathered she was saying that they had sent a "managed loan" form to CCCS for me to "agree to and sign", I explained in no uncertain terms that this would not be happening as it would almost triple  what I owe them and she said that after next month it would pass to a DCA - yay about time too!!:T So two good things happened. Just got my review with CCCS to go now, anytime between now and 6pm, hope that goes well??!!
Finally my exam was awful - thought I was well prepared but my mind just went blank and for 2 hours I struggled to remember anything significant  , everyone else happily scribbling away and I only managed to complete two A4 sides for each essay. Suppose I should be a little easy on myself cause I haven't sat an exam since 1981 :rotfl: but there really is no excuse, will just have to resign myself to an October resit  . Struggling to understand why I thought I was capable of studying for a degree!!
Anyway hope to catch up with you all again soon. Another exam next Thursday so more revision to get on with so my visits are only brief and sporadic but I do try and keep up with the thread.
Love and hugs to all :A
