  • Hi thefool

I am in a similar position to you although setting things up through CCCS.
Completed Debt Remedy / Budget plan a few weeks ago and had Info pack a day later.

Have contacted creditors and sent token payments. Spoke to both my creditors and they seemed helpful and understanding (at the moment!)
One creditor - Argos seem to have agreed that I pay £50 a month until DMP is in place.
Spoke to Barclays last week and they gave me 2 weeks for CCCS to come to them with an offer.

It is dragging a bit now as I had not realised that CCCS did not contact the creditors and start the DMP until I had a new bank account in place. Working at an office in the middle of nowhere this has taken longer than it should, so taking a day off Friday to go round the banks.

In the meantime, I have claimed back my bank charges which has cleared a chunk of the arrears on a bank loan. I have also gone through my budget plan a few times, and managed to add another £60 to the DMP monthly payment I can afford, getting it over £300 now.

My budget plan looks reasonable and realistic and think I can keep to it.
I am hoping that as I have kept Barclays and Argos in the loop on all this, made goodwill payments etc that they will accept my plan and hopefully will avoid a default.

Fingers and everything else firmly crossed, but I it feels better now knowing I am trying to do something about the problem and to clear my debts.

Hope this info helps. I find this place great for getting info, writing things down etc

    Good luck!

    Also, good luck Twitcher!!
  • Morning all not been on for a few days, had a long weekend did gardening and stuff,

I spoke to payplan and the differing amounts were due to the creditors confirming balances and agreeing to ammounts - it all adds up to the same total figure anyway, also A&L loan need a financial satement and kays haven't received any payments yet and I have made 3 to payplan already payplan said they are confused to and are sorting it for me.....hopefully.

good things in the post this am a stress pig from pigsback and a free raxor from wilkinson sword the new ladies one which I am sure i sent off for in the freebie board but it must have been weeks ago - I will now be able to bare my legs in this sun watch out everyone!!!!!
  • Good stuff about your legs itsalldrivingmemad. Just in time for the nice weather!

While doing this budget stuff, I have come to realise how extortionate Gillete Razor blades are.
In an effort to buy fewer and make blades last longer, I am going through phases where I either look very UNdesigner stubbled up, or have a face that looks like I should be an extra on CSI!

i dont know if this will help but i set up new bank account with co-operative bank online and i had an account and debit card within a week. I have only just set up cccs dmp too and the quickness of the bank account really helped.
It is a current account with no overdraft and a debit/switch card.
Not sure if this will save you a trip to a bank.
Just received letter from cccs stating all access can be made on line now directly to your plan, this will make things easier and less phone calls probably will be sending out letters to all clients i would have thought.

    hope that helps anyway
    bye for now

    Thanks Bowz

Thats useful and will give that a go.

I applied on-line for a current account with the Halifax. No overdraft but with a cheque book and debit card, but after 12 days they sent me a letter saying my credit score was below their approval level so they could not proceed, and I should go into a branch to discuss with them.

Pompeymark - I applied online with A&L for a premier account. Selected no overdraft, no credit card and put down that my full wages would go in every month. Also put down that my main credit card was up to it's limit (to make sure they had an idea about my situation).

They gave me the account, no problem with a visa debit card (not electron). Did it all online and didn't even need to send in any id.

Previously my bank refused to increase my overdraft by £50, I was over limit on all credit cards and been refused a loan and two credit cards in the last 6 months, so my credit rating was pretty horrendous :o. They still gave me an account - think it was because I specified no overdraft, no credit card.

Hello everyone and welcome to thefool and twitcher

Well not a good day for me today.

    1. Received a letter from Citi Cards asking me to pay £243 within 7 days even though I had received a letter 2-3 weeks ago stating they were accepting reduced payments on DMP and they received my payment in May from CCCS. I gave them a call and apparently it's a computer generated letter because they didn't receive payment until 25th and it was due on 23rd. They told me not to ignore it which was good news. However, she then went on to tell me that because my a/c is being dealt with by severe hardship department as my pro rata payments are too low that unless I can increase my payments to £33 (currently paying £18) my a/c will be passed to external DCA.

    2. Received a letter from Cap Quest regarding unpaid Vodaphone bill. I had an outstanding amount on my Vodaphone a/c dating back to Dec/Jan. I received a letter from Vodaphone regarding this a month ago stating that unless I paid this amount I would have to pay an additional £250 because they were terminating my contract and I still have 12 months left. I called Vodaphone on receipt of this letter and paid the outstanding bill amount and was told that my a/c would not be terminated. However, it seems that they haven't kept to their word and passed a/c to Cap Quest. I am really worried now as I have heard bad things about Cap Quest but suppose I am going to have to ring them to try and sort this out.
    Make £10 a day challenge: November - £0/£300 :)

    Hi Dreamer
I know the letters are computer generated even though most of mine have agreed I am still getting them asking me to pay the arrears.
They have said the same to me that my payments are to low, they can't have what you haven't got.The two of mine are going to be passed to a dca shortly. Try not to worry.:)
No post for me today have a good day all.
