Morning everyone,
Not been on for a while was on the OS board yesterday looking for tips on how to reduce my shopping bill. while i was there I bumped into newlywed and yellowmonkey.
Nothing to tell really. I keep up with this thread i read it every day but dont always have something to say. Not had anymore creditors except DMP. To be honest dont know where I am with it all, must get all paper work out and check whats what and get it all in order (fed-up with piles of paper work every where).
Hope everyone else is ok and coping well.

Morning amani,
Good luck with the paper piles!I'm getting frustrated with HSBC at the mo and the £25 charges - which is more than I actually pay in repayments! Added to that is £29 interest a month and I'm longing for the to just default me already

Thanks for all the info and advice guys. Much apreciated.
At least now feel like my head is out the sand, and doing something to sort my debt problem although plan taking time. Also, really pleased found this forum.
Get the impression the creditors apreciate you talking to them and keeping them in the loop.
My previous tactic of ignoring and hoping they would go away definitely wasn't the way ahead :-)
Am hoping creditors do not issue defaults while I get the plan in place and continue to make goodwill payments
Think will struggle to get a current account from a bank, so am looking at getting basic Halifax bank account with Visa Electron. Is Visa Electron any good? Is it accepted many places? I like the idea of having a bank acount with no overdraft or chequebook...removes the temptation!!!
On a lighter note...have people seen the London Olympic logo...£400K, 12 months work, and it is shocking!0 -
Just seen it - not keen at all and why £400K??? No wonder we can never stick to budgets!!CCCS DMP:Feb 07

Hello everyone.
I am new and have NEVER posted on any website before.
I am not sure even if this will appear on it
I have only just found the Moneysaver site and this debt section.
To say that I am desperate is an understatement.
I am £65,000 in debt on 10 credit cards and a loan.
I am on Incapacity Benefit for 10 years for depression since my mum died and my marriage broke up and my ex-wife wouldn't let me see my daughter.
I kept getting raised credit limits and just used them with my head in the sand .
I cannot believe what a fool I have been.
My contact with my daughter is now great and she is hopefully going tp University this year.
I have finally realised that she is an adult and that I am the child and that I have got to do something about my life
The other reason is that I have at last met someone and fallen in love with her.
She doesn't know about my Inc. Ben. and my debts and I do not want to lose her.
I have read about lots of things on the site but do not understand all of it and the jargon.
No-one knows any of this I have stopped being able to sleep and drink every night just to stop my brain from driving me mad .
I am crying as I write this .
Just getting it all out onto the page is a relief.
Please please help.0 -
Oh hon - massive hugs to you and well done for finding the courage to post on the board.
May I suggest that you post this in the main board - go to the top where it says start thread and then you can just copy and paste what you wrote on here - or I can do it for you if you like?

Try ringing Payplan on 0800 917 7823 twitcher11. They will advise you, are very helpful and will probably suggest a plan to help you pay off your debts. It will mean paying off a much smaller amount each month probably which is a great help. Those of us on here are on a Debt Management Plan which is a voluntary arrangement with creditors which sounds like what you need to me.
Good luck.0 -
Twitcher welcome to the board. Big (((hugs)))) to you. You have taken the first step though. There are options and things will get better for you. Stick with us. Talking about it on here is a good way of dealing with all those horrible feelings and worries.0

Hi Dr. Jekyl- Thanks for your advice.I actually rang CCCS this morning after my first post - my first step.
Is there a difference between Payplan and Citizens advice Bureau and CCCS and what they do ? Are there others ?
