  • Hi all and welcome twitcher11 - you're definately in the right place - plenty of advice and support! As far as I know CCCS and Payplan are organisations that help people troubled with debt repay what they owe at a rate they can afford for free (they take no commision/payment etc) and CAB offer free advice and help on all manner of things (not just financial) but I believe offer much the same service. Most people on here have had dealings with any one of them and I've heard no real complaints about any. I'm with CCCS and they've been great.

Hi Sea HSBC keep bouncing my PL dd too and charge me £25 for the privelage  wish they would sort it out!!

Hi newlywed we've never spent more than £1,000 on a car, often spending less than £500 (although dh mechanic so that helps!) Fords seem to be reliable/cheap and spares are cheap/easy to get hold of, we sold our immaculate K regd Scorpio estate for £600 last year - hope you find something soon!

Must go and crack on with the revision.
    Take care, love and hugs

  • Had to come back on and say I've been proactive and phone HSBC re charges and they say an "offer" letter was sent out today :j , don't want to get too excited cause I don't know what it is but at least its a response and fingers crossed will clear the o/d and some off the loan too. Should be here within the next couple of days so will keep you informed.

Trouble is, round here, every one we've looked at for under £500 has been either sold before we get there, a rusty heap or illegal!!

Hopefully we'll get something soon. :o

  • Have you tried fish4cars - you can set your location and price limit. Might help.

    Evening all.
Bit late today as I have been at work and I was busy for a change. Do not know what this will look like as my fonts are all over the place at the moment.

Welcome to twitcher11. Good luck on your quest.

Just a quickie tonight as I am busy but no post so nothing really to report.

Hope you are all well and will catch up later

    Take care

    Hiya all.
Well iv had my first phone call from a creditor in over 16 months on my DMP.
I forgot how enpowering it is to tell em where to go!!!!
It was from Cahoot who have recently bought out the monument credit card i have.
I was just like back in the old days on starting up my dmp, they asked me for my security details i asked who they were they told me they couldnt tell me until i had confirmed my details to which i replied in that case i cant tell you my sercurity details, this threw the lady on the other end of the phone into telling my who she was, i was then passed to there debt recovery dept, told them to contact my dept m company, they said they couldnt and need to ask me a few questions, oh ok i replied.....
Do you work My answer was.
I dont know ask my dmp company they phone number is......76866...my ref number is 8666096098696... goodbye!!!!!!

Oh i forgot who much fun this dmp can be!!

I then phoned my debt company who told me i had done the right thing and not to speak to them and they would contact them for me and sort things.
    out.

Lol, made my night really, sad i know but has made me realise how much i have learnt in the past 17 months, and i for one am not going to be bullied like i would have been then!!!!

Thankyou so much for doing that.

Its quarter to midnight and this is the first night I have not had a drink for ages.
Going to try to sleep without that feeling of dread but I think it will be a sleepless night.
Going to try and get my SOA sorted.
I now know what that means.

Thankyou Yellowmonkey and In Debt Again for your kind words.
