As my wise old Gran would say "no news is good news"
I hope you are feeling better0 -
This is true, no news is good news....hopefully! I just wish I knew where I stood with them but then again someone mentioned before that they don't always let you know.
I will be fine once I am off for the Christmas break. Also OH is treating me this weekend, coming to meet me after work Friday in London and then is taking me to the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland for the evening and staying in hotel overnight. Can't wait! Plus means I don't have to attempt the horrible commute home either :-)0 -
hi everyone,
rayday did you manage to sort anything out with your ex? You helped him out soooooooooo much I cant beleive he can be so selfish!
AMANI XXX0 -
No I am afraid not the CSA are not interested for two reasons he is not earning at the moment (which yeah I understand but hes still affording huge luxuries!!!) and we came to our own arrangment so basically live with it. We came to our own arrangment after the CSA had not managed to sort anything out in 18 months with no money!
I have looked at our budget again and I haven't mentioned on the main site caus I know they will all pounce on things to cancel but I feel I can't. Just before entering our DMP nearly every applicance known to man broke so I have about two months left of odd £5, and £3 coming out they total about £30 for repair protection. I never went for these in credit days but to be honest now I think I can't find £250 for a new washer and with 5 of us I need one and Freecycle never has things in my area - must join another areas if thats allowed!
Sky I am on £19 a month so will try to reduce that down again but after Christmas.
I am cancelling my "emergency" savings till April or before if he starts paying so that saves about £35
Going to try to cut back on food -again!
Luckily no special occasions till April when I had booked and its paid for a night in a Travelodge at Gretna for OH birthday we got married there so I would like to go I will try to ebay for funds but if not he never know about it!
My ex has gone to ground after weeks of endless phonecalls and us popping round to do jobs when he needs etc he seems to be hiding! Hopefully a touch of shame.
I am sorry for sounding so bad on him I know he has had it rough but he is alive and that is a plus, he has two lovely daughters who he is ignoring financially and time wise he needs a good poke with long stick!
Thanks for everyone in this thread it does mean a lot because I do feel a bit isolated with this. Finance problems can make you feel so lonely. At least I am sorting this out before it happens so that is good I hope!
I hope everyone else is coping this time of year all little knocks feel like big ones
Take care everyone

Hiya .......... have a hug from me RayDay. It must be very difficult for you, especially with the timing - and having children! I moan about my position but at least its only me I have to look out for just now!
Just thought I'd update any of you who have read my previous 'Northern Rock' threads ............. the last I heard from them they were passing my account over to the pre-legal team and threatening all sorts.
Today I had a letter from them saying that they have accepted my reduced payment for another 9 months and will review it next year!!!!
What was all that about? Obviously I'm very relieved ....... but ....also a bit bewildered....... surely all the angst they caused could have been avoided by just agreeing to that before - I haven't increased my offer to them, so why threaten me with all sorts before accepting it anyhow!
Bizzarre!!

I guess part of the game Jo but hey its nasty putting people under that kind of pressure makes me mad when companies do that but I am glad you have 9 months more peace and a little more the wiser to how low companies will go to get increased payments!
Take care

Hi Rayday,
Just wanted to say that I am thinking of you. You are right finance problems can make you feel so lonely and I for one am glad that I have you guys here!
I really hope that your ex manages to give himself a kick up the *** and realise that he has to do something to give you some money. Even if it means selling the luxuries that he has... we all have to do it!
Take care xxx0 -
I last posted on 23/10/07, to say OH and I had finally had that lightbulb moment and agreed to go with a DMP. Finally, two months later, I have been able to ring CCCS this afternoon and say GO !. What with having to sort out new bank accounts and get payroll depts to reroute pay.
On top of that, I managed to crash the car and had to find £150 for the excess, then found out my brother was seriously ill two days later (Unfortunately passed away quite quickly). It's been a hell of a couple of months but now I finally feeling as though I am getting somewhere. Sorting debts has lifted a serious weight off my shoulders.
Now looking forward to a DFW christmas and spending quality time with my family.
Seasons greetings to you all0
