Hell of a couple of months for you talk about everything coming at once. I am amazed to hear you talk so optomistically.
Good luck with it all and if we can be of help in any small way with regards to anything just shout.
Take care and a peaceful christmas to you x0 -
Hi bonniethemadcat so sorry to hear about your brother.
I am also with CCCs I have been on my DMP for 9 months now. I also felt like a huge weight had been lifted when we started our DMP. GOOD LUCK with your DMP hope it runs smoothly.

HI rayday GOOD LUCK on the cutting back, think its going to be hard though especialy where the food is concerned(sp?). The food shopping is the one thing I can not crack. There is 6 of us, I cant spend less than £100 a week that includes everything though! (including nappies for 2)
I know what you mean about the cancel this and that thing!!!0 -
We don't do too bad but thats the problem we already shop at Netto so how do I get much lower lol
You did raise a good point though I should ditch nappies and get little one potty trained I tried a month ago and she wasn't ready but maybe I can spur myself on a little more next year.
I hate cutting back on food its the one thing that impacts children directly. I have looked at some of the old style things but ones I found were things like tinned sausage and pasta - I wouldn't give the dog that and I am not overly fond of the dog. Apolgoies if anyone loves tinned sausages I just worry where that texture comes from! Its like Ikea hot dogs why do they crunch and should I worry0 -

I've just started a DMP with CCCS, due to make my first payment at the end of this month, so letters and phonecalls are beginning to pile in. One of my debts is a loan with the Halifax, got a letter today from an outfit called Albion Collections demanding the installments I've missed so far. Halifax were a bit quick off the mark transfering to a DCA already! Well I prsume they are a DCA, anyone heard of them?

Hello
I am in a debt programme with the CCCS and have been since March. The best thing I ever did and they are fab but I have just been reading through this forum and am amazed there are so many like me :beer:I am having minor problems with Ford and Halifax but CCCS have been fantastic - I have still been feeling a bit yuk about it today and reading through here makes me feel not so isolated
My repayments are small at the moment but will get bigger when my youngest starts school so Im in for the long haul
Best wishes to you all for a fabulous Christmas this shall be the first one I have done without credit cards so Im really pleased with myselfYay 1st wins in Cars Big Mack Race Track 40.99 Skinny Sams Tights - 4.950 -
Hi Jon
I have not heard of Albion Collections but I have not had a debt with Halifax somehow missed them off my listbut just sticking it in google seems a few Halifax customers have had them passed onto Albion. Its good in a way because they are more likely to accept lower payments.
Hi Tamilla
I am in the same boat as you I concentrate mainly on surviving now not to worried about how long the debts will run for as I know once the little one is in full time school hopefully I can increase hours and then it will go a little quicker.0 -
Hi
Hope you don't mind me jumping in on your thread. Im in the process of doing a self managed DMP for myself and OH.
so far, have managed to get Egg, Goldfish and Mint to freeze interest and accept a much smaller amount.
I wanted your experiences with American Express and First Direct CC's. have any of you negotiated a DMP successfully with them? FD are our bank and we have an overdraft with them so this is the one im most worried about. I have set another bank account up in reserve but I want to give them the chance to help before jumping ship, am I doing the right thing?
I didnt know whether to go through CCCs or do a self managed, how have you all found CCCS? Is it worth me doing that now I have got part way or should I wait on the outcome of these 2?
Sorry, so many questions, I know! but I just wanted to jump on board, reading this thread has helped give me the hope and courage to do something about it myself, thanks everyone!!0 -
Hi smitty, can't help on the remaining creditors I'm afraid. Have Egg and Mint though - they've been fine so far (a year) although Egg do default.
Question for the regulars:
Have you ever had to lower a payment to one creditor because you screwed up the figures?
I'm paying Cap One too much really in relation to the othersNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
hi,
would reccommend cccs.have 13 to pay so just give cccs one payment per month and they sort it all for me.
did my own dmp b4 but soo much hassle incase i was late paying any and foning 0870 nos for payin slips, couldnt trust the bank incase of over paying and not refunding...at least with cccs ,they take you seriously cos most of them deal with cccs anyway, cos loads of us are in the same big ocean liner, iykwim.
good luck.
rayday....am afraid both me and the dane have wrinkles!!!!btw....i buy the tinned hotdogs from netto to bulk up his food....the danes, not the ohs:rotfl: ...the only thing was that i watched what they were made from the other week on tv and was  ..still at 23p a tin its not surprising:o .we have a slow cooker and have found it really good for meals like stews and rice pudding.also i make cornbeef hash, sometimes with a pastry lid or without, and its really cheap to make and theres loads and its lovely.dont mind it the day after either.sound like my mum now ,describing rationing and what we had to put up with int waar:rotfl:
