[qoute=rayday2;7240045]I hate cutting back on food its the one thing that impacts children directly. I have looked at some of the old style things but ones I found were things like tinned sausage and pasta - I wouldn't give the dog that and I am not overly fond of the dog. Apolgoies if anyone loves tinned sausages I just worry where that texture comes from! Its like Ikea hot dogs why do they crunch and should I worry

Hope you don't mind me jumping in on your thread. Im in the process of doing a self managed DMP for myself and OH.
so far, have managed to get Egg, Goldfish and Mint to freeze interest and accept a much smaller amount.
I wanted your experiences with American Express and First Direct CC's. have any of you negotiated a DMP successfully with them? FD are our bank and we have an overdraft with them so this is the one im most worried about. I have set another bank account up in reserve but I want to give them the chance to help before jumping ship, am I doing the right thing?
I didnt know whether to go through CCCs or do a self managed, how have you all found CCCS? Is it worth me doing that now I have got part way or should I wait on the outcome of these 2?
Sorry, so many questions, I know! but I just wanted to jump on board, reading this thread has helped give me the hope and courage to do something about it myself, thanks everyone!!
I am a self managed DMP, one of my debts is my old Lloyds Current Account I jumped ship and had all my wages paid into my new account and used that as I had an overdraft with my old bank which I could not settle and also other financial products like credit cards and from the terms and conditions realised they could take money out of my current account.
I think the overdraft was the longest debt to get agreed but I did manage some interest refunded etc so you have to be patient but get there in the end.
I don't think I have dealt with your other companies sorry!0 -
I do stews, well I lie it ends up being meat and onions with potatoes and the rest of the veg is cooked separately as you have never met 5 people with such different tastes in veg!
Do slow cookers go in dishwashers- I am dreadful I know!

Hi
I love my SC but I dont have a dishwasher so can't answer you sorry!
Stews are my fave in it and it can make cheap meat go a long way. I also use it to cook my chicken carcass and get all the meat off for a soup.
Have heard they are good for rice puds but havent investigated yet!
Still waiting on a reply from FD but as they say, no news is good news. Work have said I may get a few extra hrs in January which will help as we are getting low on heating oil and have nowt to buy any more.

Morphy richards ones doThat's why I bought one of theirs instead of a cheaper make - not all of them are marked as DW proof
Would totally defeat the object of making life easier by using a slow cooker if you had to spend time washing it up after - mine bungs in the DW nicelyworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Hey all :-)
I'm in a DMP and wondered if I could join the club. Have a few threads on my woes with Lloyds......
For everyone (and I know this is a bit random), Payplan are great! They can be a bit busy and hard ot get hold of, but once you're in and set up, I find it easier to communicate with them via email using the Justabank system.
Hang in there folks. Its hard, but it does get easier :-)0 -
Another broke month this month
just when I thought I was doing ok and would have a bit extra left - something always goes wrong and your plans have to go out the window
Had to go over to Ireland for a family funeral and now have £3 to my name, no petrol in the car, only £3 left on the gas card and have to wait till payday
On top of that, owe over £100 for the travel and accommodation so next month isn't going to be that great either.
Oh well, have milk, teabags and porridge and have just enough food for evening mealsworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
