    Morning all

Well Monkey house has a strange appendage outside my back door this morning. We are having a halloween party next week and my OH has erected a Gazebo right outside the back door. Comes in handy though when i need a smoke. Good job it is not outside the front door as the neighbours would think there had been a murder. All it needs is for people to walk out with a white boiler suit on:rotfl::rotfl:

You made me laugh out loud, I have mental images!!!
  • Thanks for your advice Rayday.

It's a hard one as I don't envisage us breaking up but you can never know and I know he is doing it as he wants to start our future together and first thing is buying house and then marriage, kids etc down the line so he is being so thoughful but I think all the past problems with ex fiance and being stung for thousands with him have made me always look at worst case scenario in everything!

He kind of knows how I feel about things and has said he would never make me feel that I am living in 'his' house and he is even making sure it is a joint decision in which house we choose to by etc. I'm just a worrier...maybe when the time comes I will feel differently and more positive I hope.

Good idea re bills etc rather than mortgage...will mention that. Thanks :-)

Well it will all amount to the same thing its just a bit of piece of mind for you.

I sort of was the same here but we are both on the mortgage I came out my last marriage with 7k settlement he kept the house and all the furniture. Hubby let me write in the deeds that I paid for the house deposit. Its a paperwork exercise really the money comes in one huge pot and disappears to a million little ones!

We got married just after moving in at Gretna Green - not as tacky as it sounds but definately value for money and 9 months after marriage (stop counting!) our baby came along. I doubt he even remembers he signed to say I put the deposit down now!
  • Ahh bless - sounds perfect really!

I suppose I just have to look at it sensibly in that it's kind of an investment in our future and why not give the money to a house for the both of us rather than our landlady (nice as she is) who is making a profit out of us!! Down the line once I am finally clear of all this debt we may be able to get one together and sort it out that way. Thanks Rayday xx

P.S I will be likely to add to your support thread re saving. I don't have a car as sold it to pay some debts but now that I am on the DMP I am thinking that although can't put loads away, so will take time, I would like to save towards having my own car again in the future so will post later :-)

Oh went to a charity shop yesterday and picked up a load of Lego for £5. It seems to be all Star wars stuff. Looked on Ebay and it seems to sell well so put on 3 figures and another lot of loads of figures and accessories. Both have had bids of 99p and the job lot has 6 watchers. 2 days to go so will let you know how it goes.

Hope you all have a good day

  • Seems bad days just all come to us at once!

About the rent thing, could you not call it i"nvestment" to him for the house rather than rent? Call it rent on your DMP. If he gave you a receipt each month for your "investment" then if (hope not) you ever broke up and you had to divide assets you could prove what your committment was to the mortgage on the house even though it was in his name. I presume he would use your money to pay the mortgage? At least then when the property was sold you could stake a claim in any money that came from that as you could prove a percentage is rightfully yours? A friend of mine did that and it became quite ugly, but she produced all her bank statements showing the payment each month and she managed to get back 75% of what she had put in as her contribution was a direct source of payment to the mortgage. He of course claimed the house was his etc etc, but he was court ordered to pay her the money..... she was a happy bunny.

Now my bad day..... I have just had one of my statements through the post and wo and behold there is interest on it, a fat 2.2% (ie £24.09 OUCH). This was creation financial who so far have been great. The interest has been frozen for 18 months now, but apparently when I did a new I&E in August due to my annual pay rise and the amount they got was slightly higher than the minimum payment they cancelled any agreement to freeze interest and no longer recognise that I am in "financial difficulty". It was nice of them to tell me!! Apparently the very nice man told me that they had rejected the offer from Payplan and no longer class me as being on a DMP! How ludicrous is that!? I have just spoken to Payplan who have said their hands are tied and there is nothing that they can do. I have to say as great as Payplan have been they have never requested frozen interest from creditors and I have always done this route myself. I also asked the nice man at Creation what they accept as a F&F and he said no less than 80%. I was doing so well now he has just popped my balloon!

    Anyone got any advice??

  • jillyojolly......you could always say it was o/time payments and they have stopped, or say you had a mortgage increase.you could have a word with cccs.im with them and they are really good.i have had to do some negoiations myself to sort some stuff out but its been such a big thing to give one comp the money to distribute to 13 creditors so im not worrying that im late or ringing for more slips.they are just trying to keep charging interest cos they have to stop the charges when you are on a dmp due to the pressure(well if you are lucky!!)so sounds like they are trying it on.
    good luck.

Well I manage to extricate myself from the house that resembles a set from Quincy and pop down to the shop. Highlight of my day was getting shopping and got a nice chicken stew on the go mmmmmmmmmm.
Not going to do anything else really i have all week as i am off until the 6th Nov and am off Friday to the new forest for my super soaraway Sun £9.50 holiday. Cant wait. 3 nights in a caravan in November:confused:. Have just got through the post a flyer from where we are staying. There is a Queen tribute band on that weekend . Just have visions of hundreds of Freddy Mercury(SP?) lookalike's wandering around singing Radio Ga Ga:rotfl::rotfl:

Off now to tidy up Kitchen before OH gets home

Our honeymoon was a £9.50 a night job, which mother in law collected for me don't read the rag lol!

Fortunately for us it was not November, no Queen tribute band but the caravan was lovely and as for the rest well it was our honeymoon we made our own entertainment!
