Going by your last few posts you seem a bit down. Do not blame yourself for your OH having a few problems loan wise. When you commit to a relationship it is for better or WORSE. You are going through a bit of the worse at the moment and feeling you are to blame for everything. Do not feel that way. Think how far you have come on your journey and the great advice you have given everyone on here (me included).
Hopefully this feeling will pass and you will continue to post your epic threads which I enjoy so much. Felt a bit like it myself lately so took a step back and assessed what I had and thanked my lucky stars for the family I have around me.
You are welcome to pop down to the coast but only for an ice cream. No Reggie Perrin talk now.

    Take care

  • You are absolutely right ym, it is hard, we are always here and this will probably include the ones not brave enough yet to post (i was like that for months!). We are all fighting the fight together to be in a better place. Things will get better, but we will be your cyber support whenever you need it. I live on an island and its not quite a trip to the coast, but we all speak the same language.

Well news from our mansion is not good.

Despite our mortgage broker ringing saying he had good news, we are remortaging and wanted 73k to encompass the secured loan, lower interest and reduce term. He said good news we can offer you 59k and if you go to a solicitor and formalise your maintenance payments the full amount.

I told him where to go, two weeks ago I was told they had everything, we have an informal agreement for my ex to pay and he does, he wrote to them and I supported it with bank statements. So our remortgage is a no go that would have saved us £150 a month!

Grr I am so mad and annoyed also he refused to refund the £200 finders fee, I told him if I don't get it back I go to the FSA as part of his previous advice was to lie to the tax people. So I am really hacked off today!

Sorry another indulgent fed up post!

    Sorry to hear that rayday2
  • Hey,

Sorry to hear Rayday - that must be SO frustrating.

I have a bit of a question to ask totally not related to DMP but a mortgage. My OH has said that he is going to buy somewhere next year for us to move in too on his own as obviously I can't get a mortgage right now. Anyway, he is going to charge me rent so to speak....I am a bit funny about this. Short explaination, over £20,000 of the money I owe is because I helped people out and they have not paid the money back on credit cards.

My main thing is that I am really reluctant to give my OH money say for example £300 per month which will go towards HIS mortgage and house. If the worse was to happen say 4 years down the line and we split up I would have paid him thousands towards HIS house and come away with nothing and have to move out. Does this make any sense?? I don't like thinking this way but as I say before I have been stung by and ex and thinking worst case I would have helped him set up his future.

I must sound awful but I really don't know what to do. Obviously it would be great to move into our own place but would I really feel like it is mine??

Any advice would be great xx
  • Morning all

ray. Sorry to hear of your problem. Try not to let it get to you too much. I know easier said than done.Hope it all pans out OK for you.

Well Monkey house has a strange appendage outside my back door this morning. We are having a halloween party next week and my OH has erected a Gazebo right outside the back door. Comes in handy though when i need a smoke. Good job it is not outside the front door as the neighbours would think there had been a murder. All it needs is for people to walk out with a white boiler suit on:rotfl::rotfl:

Oh went to a charity shop yesterday and picked up a load of Lego for £5. It seems to be all Star wars stuff. Looked on Ebay and it seems to sell well so put on 3 figures and another lot of loads of figures and accessories. Both have had bids of 99p and the job lot has 6 watchers. 2 days to go so will let you know how it goes.

Hope you all have a good day

SortingIt - I would say to him that you don't feel confident paying towards his mortgage as if anything happened its all his but that you do feel happy paying towards living costs like the bills etc

I can see where you are coming from totally so I know its only a piece of mind thing but if he says he pays the mortgage and you say the utilities etc then you are contributing to the living but would not feel bitter if things happened and he kept the house because you have to pay to live anyway - of that kind of makes sense!
