  • Hello all! Glad to see everyone is doing well :)

Just popped onto show my face, found i was having the same problem as a few others lately and becoming a little bit obsessed! argh!

Good news, all my cards are cleared now, just the 2 loans to go! COME ON! haha :)

    Hope you're all well xxx
  • Morning all,

    Hope everyone is well.

Kat - well done on clearing the cards, that is great news!

Nothing exciting happening with me, I have now received three nice letters from HSBC, EGG and AMEX all thanking me for my correspondence and that they await my offers from payplan. Amex also advised that they will pass the debt to their internal debt collectors RMA...anyone had any dealings? Fingers crossed everyone will be happy with my offers of payment.

Also very shocked as Halifax did not take out the two loan payments from my account that I hold with them. I am quite pleased, usually they would take the payments and then take me over my overdraft and charge me for it too!! The overdraft account is in my DMP so hopefully fingers crossed they will accept all offers.

Anyhow, best get back to my work...long day ahead for me :-(

Sounding good for both of you, well done Kat and so far so good SortingIt!

Had a meeting this morning at the school I completely forgot about - woops anyway left little one to have an unexpected play in nursery which she liked!
  • Hi everyone,

It's been a while but have been reading everyones post welcome to all the newbies .
DMP wise half of our creditors have accepted but the others are still giving us a hard time, not much we can do but just wait and see what they are gonna do next.
Nationwide are being right pains, they are taking us to court over a credit card debt. They have never even consider the DMP with payplan and just taken us to court . So we have just sent all forms back to the courts and have to wait and see what will happen next.

  • HI Y'All

I have been checking the site on and off for a few days and today BINGO I get in! Gosh I have been a little lost, how tragic is that!!! nice to see all here and still coping in some form or another. I am on countdown til my MBNA letter arrives regarding my complaint and also my charges refund request, I just want it to hurry up!!!!!! Still no joy with Creation. I am trying to find a way to push my payments to them down below the minimum payment so the interest stops again, but catch 22 if I do that it certainly wont be 3/4 months before I am debt free! GUTTED.

On a happy note, my bestest buddy in the whole world has just offered to take me shopping in Manchester while she gets stock for her shop. I only have to pay for the flight and drive a hire car and it will be nice to get off this rock for 48 hours, just trying to save little pennies to be able to get some little bits and bobs! YIPPEE

Right, bets get that dinner on. Night all, nice to have you all back!

Well DMP wise no news here, one company has cashed my cheque when I requested a signed credit agreement but so far no goods, I haven't sent a payment I guessed they would send me a letter telling them I had not paid. I hate it really feeling like I am dicing with fire, would never have asked for the signed credit agreement had two agencies not come after me.

Also wrote a three page letter of complaint to the mortgage brokers to get my £200 back, how many of you would believe I could write epic length letters.

Anyway over and out this end, or as I like to say

The Show Must Go On, caus Fat Bottomed Girls go a little Radio Ga Ga and must go back to the real world for a Crazy Little Thing Called Love ;)

  • Hello everyone, I am a newbie, and I just wanted to say hello and thank you for the support you have given me during the first 3 months since my LBM.
I found the site via a friend and since have been drawing great support and inspiration from the stories on this thread.
As a way of introduction, I thought before the LBM I was a successful, well paid executive with a lovely partner and 2 great kids.
But our life was a sham, to date it has been based on debt, borrowing and poor budgeting, that has resulted in 3 equity releases in 5 years(all gone) and £86k in unsecured borrowing. I don’t class myself as dim, but in hind sight I should have seen this coming years ago.(hence name Dogbot) In August this year we breached are OD again and before we had brought food, the minimum card payments bounced and the mortgage was not going to get paid the wages went in with bonus and the bank reduced our overdraft by same amount. This was it THE LBM! we had reached the end of the road. In panic we took a 3 month payment holiday on the mortgage and used the drop in outgoings to pay the outstanding priority bills. The same month my pay day was moved from mid month to end of month leaving double payments, because suppliers would not move DD’s to end of month so they moved forwards!!.
After we did our budget we worked out we had about £215 a month spare and minimum payment of over £1700 on ccards and loan. It would seem for years we had been borrowing more and more to pay for day to day things because the card payment were eating up more and more of the cash each month.
I spoke to Debtline and with their advice draw up our budget and submitted pro rata offers to our creditors. Some were fine, some were not fine but politely described exactly how, since I could no longer feed their profit, they would now take me to bits one piece at a time. And MBNA get a special mention. They were.. (Must go to happy place) cruel, abusive, relentless and plain nasty. I have never in my life wished anyone any harm but now I am not so sure... Grrr. I now cope with their harassing phone calls by telling their agent that they have my pity because I only have to speak to them once a day they have to work there all the time. We got agreement form 5 out of 10 .Anyway we have this week finished the re-budget and agreed SOA with payplan. They are going to make offers based on £358. And believe with that they should get interest frozen. That should see me debt free in 20 years. Once that is done we can concentrate on building a surplus with a view to trying for a full and final settlement in maybe 5 to 10 years. I borrowed it so I want to pay it back (except MBNA they can F*&^%^F). I would very much like to join and share in your community as it seems there is few happy places to go. And this is one. J
