I had a quick look and utilty wise it said more than 18 hours but usually you contact your house insurance so I would do that just in case at the end of the day if its thawed its lost!

    Sorry I can't help more :(

I have my quote sitting in front of me for boiler etc and it includes remote control room thermastats and thermastats on all the radiators plus 3 new radiators two in locations we never had them and one becuase it is covering a leccy switch which apparently is a no no.

And the mortgage man after me telling him to go to hell and refund me suddenly found a solution so that is crawling onwards again so hopefuly still new windows and save up for the other jobs we need doing - but hey ho! maybe a warmer house.

Thanks again everyone and sorry for my wobbly!
  • Hi
Is there room for one more in the DMP Mutual Support Thread? :)
Our DMP (through CCCS) should be starting in November, have sent them all the proofs of income/debt etc, just waiting for the welcome pack from them and the slip to make our first payment on November 1st.
At the moment we have only missed one payment to any of our creditors. I was unable to make even the minimum payment to my Lloyds TSB credit card when it was due on the 28th of September so I sent them a letter with a cheque for a token amount and explained that I would be in touch as soon as we knew what our next step would be.
I sent out all our Notification of DMP letters last week, so they probably all got caught up in the postal strike. This morning I got a letter from Lloyds TSB credit card saying that I had missed my payment and should make it immediately etc etc.
What I want to know is if I should write again to Lloyds TSB credit card telling them about the DMP and referring them to CCCS, or should I wait and see what their next contact is, assuming they should have received the DMP paperwork I sent them today or tomorrow?
Any help and advice would be much welcomed as I feel somewhat swamped by all this...although, at the same time, it is SUCH a relief to be starting to do something about the whole mess!

Write back or phone them if you are up to it, quoting your CCCS reference number - I did this for my OH to all his creditors. It seems once you have the magic reference number they start taking you seriously - or perhaps he was just lucky!
Good luck with the DMP - it's the best thing my OH could have done, nearly 3 years and no nasty phone calls or letters from his creditors. Hope yours is the same.

  • Thanks for that Sagaris
Think I'll write to them - probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have a generic letter with the CCCS reference number etc on it saved on the computer...I'm sure that they won't be the only ones writing! (Hopefully the fact that our phone number has just recently changed should spare us the nasty phone calls though  )

  • Evening all,
Hope everyone is ok. Well, I am officially on my way to starting my DMP. Just put the last of the paperwork in envelope off to Payplan and my letters to all my creditors advising of payplan and token payments are just printing off as we speak. I tell you what it is finally great to have all the paperwork up together and be able to send it off tomorrow at the post office! Phew!
  • Hi all

Just a quick hello! I am still about, alive and kicking! Had a letter from the Lloyds saying they will settle for £135 a month for 6 months for my credit card debt! Rung them and told them "no can do" and I can only pay the amount you are getting now through payplan! Not heard nothing since!

I also asked Lloyds about the loan and they have decided to pass this onto a debt recovery company and not a CCJ as they first said they would do! Dunno why they changed their minds but not complaining! I hope the Credit Card follow suit!

Keep the faith unlike my team at the moment :D

  • Hi Guys

Thought I would give you an update on my situation.
I had a call from my Case Worker today through Payplan, a very nice lady with loads of advice on how to deal with the calls and stuff.
Anyway just waiting for my paper work which of course because of strikes has not turned up yet :(
My mum kindly helped me out this month with my mortgage so im happy at the moment and just had work confirm that my wages will go to my new bank account this month :)

I would like to thank everyone for there kind words so far, and just your reply has taken the stress out of the whole thing! :T

Also anyone thinking about doing a DMP, dont be scared. The people at Payplan are so friendly and not once have they made me feel bad! they have done the opposite and helped me smile again :)
  • Sounds like you are at the same stage as me, although luckily I have had my pack and posted it this morning to go back - hopefully it will make it! Payplan are really helpful and are more than willing to assist you in anything and answer all your questions. I too feel happier now that I have taken the step and am on my way to my DMP. Good luck x
