Good luck YM - although I have not been on this thread long I have enjoyed reading all the past posts (half way through!) and appreciated your input recently.
Take care and enjoy your break! x0 -
daveindebt - dont worry debt collection agencies are usually happier to accept lower payments than the initial companies because they buy the debt for a lower price.
YOu treat them just the same as if they were the original debtor so don't panic. To be honest as your DMP rolls on you will find evenutally you hardly deal with any original companies its standard practise to roll them out to debt collection agencies.
Remember though only deal with DCA via letter they are paid to badger money out of you if they can't speak to you they can't do it but that is my standard advice for dealing with anyone no debt companies have my phone number.
Hope that helps you feel a little better only door knocking in December should be pesky carol singers that can't get passed the first line of carols and this big red guy who breaks in your house on the 24th0 -
YM- can understand where you are coming from, MSE is only supposed to make us wiser with money not take over!
Pop back when you need wisdom top up lol and enjoy the other side of life!0 -
Hi everyone, and hello to the new posters.
Just an update, wrote to HELIFAX! re the 8 phone calls a day we were getting, they said they will suspend the phone calls for three weeks even though I asked them to only contact us in writting only. So must write back to them again today.
Some GOOD NEWS though my hubbys new job was only for 6 months and should have finished on friday but, they have offered him a permenant job. So now the Debt Free Day should be 2yrs 7 months instead of 7yrs 8 months. :j
Hope everyone else is ok and there DMPs are running smooth

Amani, that is great news and say congrats to your hubbie from me.
YM, you have been a gem on here but I completely understand what you have said and are doing as I have felt a bit the same myself. Will miss you but good luck and take care and enjoy your time off here:j0 -
Rayday - sorry if I'm getting you confused with someone else ... a post was on here (maybe on this thread?) not so long ago about the standard rate poeple should include within their SOA for submission to creditors on DMP, like expenses and so on ... was it you that posted that? just would be a helpful link in another post (someones getting hassle about the amount they are claiming to spend).
Thanks xx0
