    Greetings.

Thought i would pop in and say hello.

Not a lot happening at monkey mansion lately. No letters or phone calls so relative peace(Apart from the darling DD's wirling dervish behaviour:rotfl: )

    amani Congrats on the house:T

Huntress Nearly there now well done.:T

Been busy bleaching my wheelie bins today as the weather is warm here today. Mow the lawn later and then baked potato for dinner tonight and then down to the beach to collect dolly soap. I dont know if you know but there is a dolphin off the coast down here. Has been here for a year or so now so went down to see it. Absoluty amazing sitting on an english beach watching a dolphin in the sea. By the way he is called 'Dave' and he even has his own website apparently.

Hope you all have a good one and have a great bank holiday weekend. Back to work for me on Monday though

How do you become a member of this thread by the way? I am scared to put how much we owe as it is slightly more than you guys.

I was a bit ashamed and embarassed about mine, put into context collectively we only earn 17k so that is pretty bad. But it gives me a good kick up the bum to sort it out!

Everything is relative to how you view things I find our debt and mortgage enormous and to another person owing a thousand on one card feels too much.

One thing I know for sure never again!

    hi everyone,

HereGoes hello and welcome. I am with CCCs it took about 10 days for the paper work to come through and the envelope was plain white with the return address on the back, but no CCCs written on it.

YM sounds like a lovely place where you live.

Hi all, just been to see a car for sale (in our budget). Did an expensive data check on the registration and it came up as being a Category B insurance write off in 2005 (can be used for spare parts but the car should never return to the road and the bodyshell should be crushed). Trader says the check is wrong. But we can't risk it.

Fed up now. Anything in our price range is either an absolute heap or completely dodgy with "lost documents" or written off. :(

Back to the bus then.

    Dr Jekyll.

If you do not feel like putting your debt on your signature then honestly dont bother. Debt is relative to everyone and not everyone needs to put this down. We are all on here to help weather you have a debt of £100,000 or £10. The main thing is that people are to help whatever your circumstances.

amani. Tis lovely down here. dont really appreciate it until you have no money to go to a place with squashy balls and slides and leave your kids to run around whilst you have a cup of coffee. We are doing things more as a family now and am even playing a trip to France a few times to visit the beaches over there. I get cheap travel to France (£1) so it is just as cheap to go there. Things i would never have thought of before.

newlywed. all i can say is good job you had that expensive check. I know that does not help with the car but in the long run better for you. Have you a local car auction near you or even a boot fair sometimes see them for sale there. I am no mechanic and when i look at a car i kick the tryes for some reason as if this will tell me it is OK. So far havent been burnt YET.Good luck anyway.

    Hi everyone

Thanks for all your good wishes re the job. Hopefully it won't be too long before I start. Carrying on with the claim for the Jobseekers Allowance as it is being backdated and when the job ends in July will need to claim it again anyway so if I can get most of it sorted out now, hopefully, it will make things easier in July. Received the form to fill out in the post this morning except they didn't send the one I need to fill out as my DH is self-employed so will have to wait on that one now.

Phoned my mortgage company to see how I go about claiming back the exit fee from when we moved and they will look into it and send a cheque if I am due one. Said it usually takes 5 working days but because of the bank holiday to give it a couple of days longer. Thought it would take months so I don't mind waiting an extra couple of days. Then again might not be eligible for anything.

Didn't get my car back after failing its MOT until last night but at least it is safe to drive again. Unfortunately the advisory notice says it will need break discs replaced fairly soon, so probably another couple of hundred quid there. Taking dog to vet this afternoon for her vaccination so yet more money going out this week. Does it never end?

Newlywed - DH always used to buy cars for £300 or less then would find he had to pay more than thet to get them through MOT's then still would only get a year out of them. That was before I started driving and I often refused to even get in them never mind try and drive one. Certainly not the Fiat Panda:eek: Since I have been driving we have spent more on decent cars especially now with having the kids however I just don't know how we would be able to get another one if anything ever happened to this one. On another point I would report that trader to Trading Standards and let them figure out if the data check was wrong or not. I would hate to think of someone else getting in that car and something awful happening.

Well it is a gorgeous day here so off to hang up my third load of washing - it's been mounting up due to the rain we had recently.
Will hopefully get a chance to pop back on later.

The first car I drove cost £86 as an mot failure that my dad worked at to get on the road. Second car sat in a field for 3 years after mot failure before my dad finished repairing it for the mot. I then drove it for about 5 years.

So I don't have a problem with cheap cars as long as it is safe and roadworthy and a good mechanic (dad) can check this ;)
