Hi all
Just reading and catching up on the DMP thread! On my front I received a letter from Egg Card saying that they had closed my card! As if I care anymore
It is been surprisingly very quiet with the telephone calls and I suspect the lull before the storm. I did however receive a letter from Lloyds with a line "as this debt is not a pririoty to you, etc" so I rung CSSC and this guy was superb! He told me not to worry as the letter was standard and I discussed with him on a lot of issues in relation to my debt and the option of CCJ's. He erased alot of fears I have in relation to the debt and told me not to worry. This guy had been through a similar situation to mine.
New account up and running and the wages will be paid into that on the 18th. Only thing I did'nt have time to do was sort the direct debits out before the pay day so I'm going to have to send them cheques or ring them with debit card payments. I have not told Lloyds yet that I have changed accounts and don't intend doing so! Will this be a bad thing to do?
Hope everyone is still hanging in there"The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person's determination."Debt free in 4 years  _party_0 -
Hi all
Quite quiet on the DMP front. Made 1st monthly payment last week and now set up to pay by Direct Debit 10th of each month.
No word from Sky Card and Argos loans, but have made token payments and they know what I am doing.
Had loads of letters from Barclays a couple of weeks ago rejecting my offers, along with Default on loan and termination on current account. Wrote back to Barclays acknowledging receipt of these, and saying that I would be continuing to make DMP payments as they requested.
Was suprised to get a helpful and friendly letter from Barclays Customer Relations today thanking me for keeping in touch with them, and apologising as they have not acted appropriately regarding their management of my debts or communicated their actions to me. Letterssays that both loan and current account are now in process of being closed and passed to Barclays Recovery Unit who will be aware of my CCCS offer and will accept it which is fine with me.
While I have become a much more careful person now with regards to money, my beloved Portsmouth Football Club are spending money like there is no tomorrow. Sure to all end in tears.
My sister went on holiday for 2 weeks last night and we have her dog staying with us. Did not get off to the best of starts however when he chased the neighbours cat who is yet to reappear.
Hope everyone is ok0 -
Teecee, sorry to hear about the school job. Am an ex teacher with experience of many schools and many situations like yours. my wife is also a head and we discuss such situations sometimes. Depends very much what they are looking for and the very best of people do not nec. fit the bill and so that leaves you out. They also take into account likely salary and you may be expensive in your ripe old age? Schools can have a very tight budget remember. However, it does sound like Foundation experience was the clincher in your case and however much they like you they can't get around that one. Also remember there are others on the interview panel who may not know much about your contribution to the school apart from what they are told. Your personal feelings will not be a consideration in that sort of scenario even in a supposedly caring environment like a school. Hope that helps? I would employ you any time but unfortunately I ain't got any money. Take care.
Regards to all and may the post only bring good news and no ph. calls.
To all newbies, it does get easier and if the banks think they will eventually get repaid they do not need to take you to court or send in bailiffs. Many banks accept offers of less than 50-60% of what you owe at some point apparently, the thought of which certainly cheers me up so I hope it does others.

Well just popping in quickly.
How are you all ?
Been busy this morning. Cleaned the cooker, microwave all the worktops and mopped the kitchen floor as well as polished and hoovered living room. Got to go later to the 'big' school (primary) as my youngest DD is spending the afternoon there prior to starting in October. She is really looking forward to it and her big sister will be in year 2 so she already knows lots of teachers so should make the transition OK.
Recieved a cheque today from my local water company (£10) after i complained about the hassle i had setting up the DD and the cost of the numerous phone calls to them. So that was good news.
Going to go now as i have shopping to get and then off to school to pick up the little 'monkeys'
teecee. Sorry to hear your news regarding the job but well done on standing up to the CO-OP bank. Surprising how much we have all changed since starting this DMP and we now have the courage to stand up for ourselves. Well done
Take care

Hi everyone
This is only my second posting but can I say how fantastic this site is. The support I get from all of you is amazing. Its sooooo nice to know I,m not alone with my problems, about £17800 worth
Payplan have been very good by the way, most creditors have agreed the
payments offered and my post is getting less and less.:j
Any way got a question:T
Payplan--bless them- calculated my payment using the fact that I was living alone etc. My dear daughter has just returned to the nest along with her two pet rats ,bin bags of washing and lots of problems but also with a decent wage. She may not stay for ever but do I tell Payplan. I know and think I should but the house keeping will be lovely to receive, if only for a few months/weeks.
Another question is that my wages have reduced-should I tell Payplan or make up the shortfall with daughters housekeeping???0 -
CATH - I would be inclined to keep quiet about your daughter being back at home, like overtime it is not a guarateed income and not something that can be relied upon for a specific time.
I think if I was you I would inform them of your change in income (not DD being back at home) and maybe try to save a proportion of any money you get from your DD in board that way when your daughter does leave home you can offer a one off payment to payplan to distribute to your creditors.
I think this would be better than telling them your payments can go up and then after what may be a very short time have to put them down again.
Thats just my opinion, feel free to ignore me.DEBTS @ 1/1/07 - £25,800:eek: DEBT @ 04/05/11 - NIL
FINALLY DEBT FREE - 4TH MAY 2011:j:j:j:j:j

I would keep quiet daughters normally come with bags of washing and I have a feeling that one will counteract the other!0

Although if any working children are giving "housekeeping" money then it affects any Housing benefit as well as your single person council tax discount.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0
-
If it is looking permanent then its a good idea to let on especially if her post is coming to the house but for a few weeks its hardly worth all the hassle.0
