Hi tayforth - another long time lurker here, in the nicest possible way
I've been following your story with interest and sending out positive thoughts that you get the happy ending you deserve. I don't have any similar experiences to share so I just wanted to wish you lots of love and luck as you start a new chapter in your life. It's not going to be easy severing your ties with this gobsh*te but just focus on the goal and picture yourself as your own person again, living a free and single life with no-one to answer to but yourself. I'm going to subscribe to this thread to keep an eye on you so please keep us updated, if you feel able to.

Just wanted to send a hug and to say of course you`re scared and stressed, when I did it I was so scared I was being sick, I couldnt even keep a drink of water down. I dont think anything anyone can say will make it easier for you, you just have to get through it.

Tayforth, if you are determined you want to stay in the property, you could look into this
http://m.england.shelter.org.uk/get_advice/families_and_relationships/relationship_breakdown/occupation_orders
You can get one to legally prevent him living there even if he is still on the tenancy. This would give you the month you need to serve notice and have the landlord grant you a sole tenancy.
I don't know much about them or how you would get one, but it might be worth looking into, especially if he leaves voluntarily now but you suspect he may try and return later.
Hope it goes OK.0 -
