Meeting up with an old friend, Tay???? I need an e mail!! P.S The cry about the event is perfectly and totally understandable, I wouldn't have stayed on my own either. I'm having the opposite problem. Mutual friends are organising a special meal and are not inviting ex. I know he will be disappointed, but also am very glad he's not going, but I am going to have to tell him about it, don't want him hearing about it from anyone else.

Haha, no, it's nothing like that! He's a good friend, nothing more. He lives a long distance away, and happens to be here for a few days, so we're meeting up for a chat.

When's your meal with your friends?

Thanks for the moral support xxx

That's fantastic news, rockie4! I'm so chuffed for you! You're a real inspiration, do you know that?

What type of car did you buy, and where are you off to on holiday? :)

As for your ex, you're right - he's not your problem anymore! :D Pity the woman who's ended up with him lol.

No, I haven't seen a counsellor yet, but I know that I need to. I'll start in the next couple of weeks.

    Aw:o Thanks :o

I bought a Fiat 500 :j:j I love it!! White with red upholstery and I was very girly and bought a red handbag to match!!
Booked Center Parcs with my daughter and the kids at February half term

I'm thinking of a Med cruise in April with a Solo holiday group so I'm going to go on a taster weekend in November with them to see what it/they are like!

OH is no longer my problem :rotfl: I'm thinking about him less and less but I'm cross that the mobile phone company won't let me cancel his contract! They've suspended his phone so he can't make calls but I've still got to pay until the end of the contract in another 12 months :mad:

We're bound to have the occasional 'wobble' after all we've been through a lot but it's getting better all the time and will continue to do so :T:T:T

I don't know the story of this, but I'm guessing it's in your name? Why do you not say the sim is lost, and ask for a new sim to be sent to you, therefore the old sim stops working, and you could take on the new sim theoretically, or just bung it in a drawer to make definite that nothing will be run up on it. If you were taking his contract on, but didn't want his number, you could potentially transfer another number onto the sim, but would need to ask the provider if you can really do this.

    Hello

I'm shattered and just off to bed - haven't slept so well the last few nights. I was on a training course today for work, and felt really irritable and tired in the afternoon. My brain is buzzing most of the time, I need an off switch at night :o

On the way home, I went to my favourite charity shop and got a few gorgeous new bits for winter, I'm thrilled with them. One jacket, one coat, two skirts, one silk scarf. That cheered me up! :)

The decluttering continues. I've moved loads of stuff to the shed, and have made quite a lot of space in the house. It's getting there! I can't wait to show my mum when she next visits, she won't know the place. Not that it was a tip before lol, but it was a bit cluttered.

Wow! I love Fiat 500s, they're so cute. Good for you :D I can just picture you being all girl-about-town in it lol.

Well done also on booking holidays - I need to do the same. It's always good to have something to look forward to. Where is the taster weekend?

Would the mobile phone provider let you downgrade his tariff? They sometimes do that. Worth a try - sorry if you've already explored all options!

Ahh, thanks so much, Lifeforms! That's really kind of you :) I'm always touched to hear that anyone is reading this thread.

I must look into those solo holidays myself sometime! :A

Good suggestions about rockie's mobile problem too. :D

Taster weekend is in Peterborough - never been anywhere near there before :rotfl:!!! Looks easy enough to get to on the train though....

A little apprehensive but I'll be ok once I get there ;)

Phone thing - I pay for 2 contracts, his and mine, both about £11 a month. Provider say that as it is a 2 year contract with a year to run that they have suspended his phone so that he can't make calls/texts/use internet but I still have to pay until the contract runs out next September  At least he can't use it so won't be running up the bill but I was a bit miffed! It's not the money it's the principle!!

New clothes are good :D they always cheer me up :T
My de-cluttering continues, I'm decorating my flat and getting new furniture so pretty soon I'll have next to nothing left that ever connected him to me :D:D:D If he can disassociate himself from me then I can do the same!

    Morning!

I am so tired, my eyes are stinging. Another very bad sleep last night. I just can't seem to quieten my thoughts at the minute.

I went to Boots before work, and bought some lavender calming tablets, so will try them tonight. I also stocked up on a few Avene products as they're on 3for2 :D I tried a sample of the SPF20 light moisturiser and it's amazing. So that's my payday splurging over! :o

    How is everyone?

Oh, you'll be fine once you get there :)

Shame about the phone contract, but at least they've suspended it so he can't use it.

Well done on the decluttering! I haven't replaced much, but I've dug out all the pretty things that he dismissed as 'junk' and am using them. I bought a lot of 'my' stuff before meeting him (and he hated most of it), so I don't really associate most of it with him, if that makes sense. I've thrown out/given away a few things that do remind me of him, and I feel better for it.

I've signed up for a conservation day in a couple of weeks. We'll be clearing a habitat for birds at a nearby lake. It'll involve getting very muddy (and probably wet) and I can't wait. :)

I've had a lovely message from my friend (the guy I met up with last week), telling me that I'm decent, kind and an all-round good egg and shouldn't let what happened get to me. Bless. I'm very touched!

We had a wonderful catchup over a drink or two - he was horrified to hear the full details of my story, and very supportive. Then we had a looooong chat about everything under the sun, and it was very restorative. Just what the doctor ordered!

A good friend is a precious thing indeed.
