FINALLY DONE IT: Tayforth's new beginning

Your personal ideas are not relevant. My suggestion was for consideration, as I don't know her likes or dislikes (nor do you). I'm sure Tayforth will be delighted with your constructive contribution!
Everyones personal ideas are relevant (can you have an idea that's not personal?) otherwise how does anyone ever have a discussion about anything?
Although it seems there are some people who aren't interested in discussion because no-one is allowed to have an opinion that's different to their own
I'm sure Tayforth knows us well enough to know that sometimes we're just engaging in light-heared banter, of course everyone's likes, dislikes and opinions are different, that doesn't mean we can't express them! :wall:

Oh, I agree its relevant suggestionbut tayforth has never minded chat.
or opinion shared.:). I think the 'release on control' she's shown has actually allowed her some kind of liberation to let her explore other ideas....she certainly opens her mind to suggestion. So long as she makes her OWN mind up I think other opinions are probably pretty valuable.
My particular thoughts on a cruise is that while the idea is relaxing if you have been 'trapped' someway in a veneer of happiness (whether relationship or holiday) and you get stuck there its horrific. The only cruise I've ever been on was actually not unlike my 'nasty' relationship. Perhaps that's why my reaction is so 'hellish'.. They absolutely are great for a huge number of people which is why they are so popular and successful.
Fwiw, I also agree that to make a HUGE decision about a lifestyle change sort of career break while in flux might be a little reckless. But a short break.....not so much.0 -
Everyone has different ideas and thoughts on life and options. I think that that is part of the rich tapestry of life.
It wouldn't do for us all to be the same would it?0 -
Lostinrates your post #1923 was very snippy and gave no inference of banter; at least jackieblack had a "Big Grin" smilie, despite being a snippy post. It appeared you were both just dismissing my suggestion for consideration, which caused my response.
At least lostinrates you have elaborated on your initial comment, which gives a better understanding of your initial response. If this had been included in your first response I would have taken no offence to my suggestion being apparently dismissed.
Everyone has different opinions on different types of holiday, I was giving my suggestion based on my experiences.
Anyway can we all go back to playing together now? :grouphug:0 -

I'm sorry you had the impression I was snippy. All I can say Is that perhaps your own point about us not knowing each other is relevant here and its down to interpretation because I can promise you i was not being snippy or dismissive. I get trite or pompous sometimes I'll admit, but snippy is not me. I am always happy to play nicely NAR.
And finally, There is a big green grin smilie at the top line of that initial reply (I have edited this in because I just checked to make sure before saying it). (P.s. , still not being snippy, just pointing out I was not being 'snippy' then either).
This has been such a positive thread, lets keep it so, huh? (But do check and see that the smilie is there so you feel better, because its not nice to feel slighted especially when its unnecessary)0 -

Tay, the comments about getting back to work are very valid. If it is your intention to return to work, for the time being at least, you do need to be making moves in that direction. I'm not saying this as an employment lawyer (though if you were off a long time, it could become an employment law issue) but as someone who has been there and knows how difficult it is to return to work after a long period on sick leave. It does honestly get harder to go back with every week that passes.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
