Hi Tay,
Nice to hear from you. Sorry that today was a lousy day.
All your issues sound so familiar, a big hug to you, because sometimes just living takes up all the spare energy, never mind then running a marathon of emotions.
Take care x
Thank you, what a lovely post.
How are you doing? I've been thinking about you and hoping that you're getting on better. PM me if you don't want to talk on here xxLife is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

Hardly slept a wink last night. Took a deep breath and phoned the doc this morning and almost immediately starte crying (again!) on the phone. I asked him if I could have a phased return to work, and he said that if I couldn't even speak to him on the phone without crying, I was in no fit state to be at work.
I said that I did want to go back, but he said that I need a few counselling sessions first. I'm going to go back to my house next weekend, and stay for a week, and attend counselling sessions. I'll also meet the welfare officer from work, and fix a date for going back.
I feel better for having a plan of action. Even if I seem to be in tears several times a day. Maybe all the tension and stress is finally coming out.Life is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

We all react differently to situations but it is very common to 'cope' while the situation is actually happening then when you are in a 'safe' place your body relaxes and reacts to what it has been through.
It almost like when you need to be on guard your body is very clever and automatically protects you but when that guard comes down thats when the physical reactions as well as the emotional reactions start to take effect.
Take care of yourself and don't be hard on yourself for how you are feeling at the moment, you are not a robot or made of stone. You have been holding on to these emotions for a long time and keeping them to yourself, now everyone knows you don't need to hang to them anymore.0 -

Thank you, KM. I've spent the last few weeks worrying about ending it, about work, about practicalities - but mainly about my mum and sister.
Worrying that they'll find out the truth before the wedding. Worrying about how my mum will react when I tell her. Worrying that my sister will find out before she gets home from honeymoon. Worrying about how she'll react. Worrying about telling her too soon after her HM and ruining her 'buzz'. Worrying about her strange behaviour towards me after I did tell her.
Then when I had a wobble a few days ago and finally cried in front of them both, and we resolved everything, I think that that was the point when I began to let go of all the worry.
Maybe I'm just rambling. Lack of sleep does that.Life is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

I've spent a nice, quiet, relaxing day with my mum, sister and BIL. My sister made dinner and we had a glass or two of wine. It was lovely.
Now to try to get to sleep. That's still tricky, I'm not sleeping at all well. But fingers crossed that it'll improve soon.
Goodnight everyone xxLife is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

Hi tayforth,
I hope you are having a lie in now!
Very glad to hear that you had a good day yesterday en famille. Don't worry too much (ha! easy to say) about the sleeping thing, it will improve. Stress and the reactions after stress do strange things to you.
I've been having problems sleeping and have been drinking something called night time tea, which includes some valerian, each night. This seems to have improved things somewhat although it tastes pretty icky! It's in all the big supermarkets so easy to get if you fancy trying it.
I am also very glad to hear that your GP is so great - you need to listen to his advice. Be kind to yourself! I know it's really hard to accept that you are not well at the moment, but that is honestly the case. Doctors are very good at looking after their patients so please take his advice and give yourself a break.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend, it's brilliant to see how your journey is continuing.

I have tried honey and it does improve the taste - but it still smells like a cross between wet knickers and something you're meant to rub on your feet...but thank you for the thought! That is really sweet of you.0 -
I'vve found the night time tea with 2 Kalms helps me sleep a little better. Hope you are feeling a bit more like yourself today
I'm off to get the keys to my flat this afternoon and start moving in properly later this week

Thank you all for your kind words and suggestions on improving my sleep. Well, I was totally wiped out last night and slept for 7 hours straight, which was better than I've had in ages.
rockie4, how exciting that you're finally getting your keys - and your freedom!!!I'm so thrilled for you, really I am. Let me know how it goes, will you be going in for a nosey today? xxx
