Wonderful!
I've picked out the bits that jumped out at me - you are in control, you're happy and you can be like this for the rest of your life.
You'll be able to celebrate your sister's anniversary each year with a double meaning - their wedding and the start of your new life! That is such a beautiful way of looking at things. Made me smile.
What a fab thought Mojisola! I love itzzzLazyDaisy wrote: »Wow, I can feel the waves of relaxed happiness from here! Sounds like you had a lovely time - and it is great that you noticed how much easier and more enjoyable the event was without your ex by your side.
It is a beautiful day today, hope you get out and enjoy the sunshine.
Hugs

Thanks Daisy! I intend to get out in the sun today, definitely.Life is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

I am so glad that you enjoyed your sisters wedding and that you had a supportive aunt to help deflect awkard questions from people. That must have helped alot. It sounds to me like you handled yourself so well and with such dignity. You should be very proud of yourself tay.
Enjoy this beautiful hot, sunny weather today and relax. Good idea to visit Ikea and get some nice new bits for your home. I hope it is beginning to feel like yours now and is a safe and happy sanctuary for you. Best of luck next weekend when you tell your family. I am sure they will want to help and support you whenever you need them.
Thank you. I couldn't have done it without my aunt, she was fantastic. I really appreciated her support. And I told her so.joolsybools wrote: »Well done Tay, it sounds like you handled it perfectly. I know I would be sending my Aunty a nice bunch of flowers if I was in your shoes, she sounds like a superstar!
On another note, I think you write really well, have you ever thought about writing as a career (if you don't already do it)?
Oooh, lovely idea. I was wondering how to thank her, and she loves flowers xx
Thanks for the complimentI haven't thought about it tbh, I'm not sure that I'm all that good.
I'd love to, though! I'm now picturing myself in various pretty locations writing on a laptop in the sunshine

You have had your reward in a happy happy weekend and the freedom to have fun rather than get caught up in mega explaining and perhaps it making you too self conscious to have such a free and fun time.
So I wasn't the only one checking in a lot yesterday then....:D
Awwww :A
Who'd have thought, 4 weeks ago, that I'd be thinking this way? I was in despair about my OH and the wedding and couldn't think straight.
Now I'm in NO doubt that I did the right thing. Not just for my family, but for me. You're right - I was able to enjoy it with the minimum of fuss, and that meant a lot to me.Life is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

Ah Tay, such a relief that you had a lovely, lovely time. The bits that jumped out at me was that you now call him your "Ex" so you have already made that mental leap even though its only been - what - a week? AND that you didn't need to spend the weekend babysitting his mood swings - so many reflections on what it would have been like if he had been there, constantly apologising, checking in, etc. It sounds like you are gradually finding your true self again and I couldn't be happier for you. Enjoy the sunshine (literal and metaphorical!) and the rest of your week off. Hopefully you'll also find that your rash starts to heal, along with the rest of you! And your aunt sounds like an angel!£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

It's been two weeks and a dayNot that I'm counting :rotfl:
My aunt is indeed an angel. She's always been there for me, but never more so than these last few weeks.
And yes, it was incredibly liberating to just enjoy myself. I enjoyed it so much! Thanks for the lovely post :ALife is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

BRILL, BRILL, BRILL Tay!!
Thanks so much for the update. Sounds like everything went as well as it could have done and that you handled it superbly. Not just saying this for you to feel better, but it's still early days and you ALREADY seem so, so much happier.
I loved the bit about bare feet at the wedding, always the sign of a good night's dancing for a lady! I can just see you with those moves like jagger!! :TIt's always darkest before the dawn.

See I came in to work with a hangover and a bit of a grumpy mood, but already your posts have made me grin!
For info, be careful of those meatballs at Ikea if you go.... hahaIt's always darkest before the dawn.

Morning
Thanks for your patience, I wanted to post an update last night but could hardly see straight, so had to go to bed!
I did see this and took a couple of squares with me (Mum always had a bar of Dairy Milk in the house), and I don't know if it worked but it was nice lol.
For future reference a couple of squares isn't enough. You need to have enough to coat the throat to start then maintain with a regular square or two0
