    Hi everyone :)

Thanks for all your support and encouragement over the last few days. I've been reading even though I haven't been posting.

So... I'm just back from my mum's, absolutely shattered. I'm going to bed now, but I promise a full and lengthy update tomorrow xxxx

Glad you've updated Tay, was beginning to wonder if everything was OK. (I was worried about you, tbh).

    Sleep well.

Good to see an update from you tay. Hope all okay with you hun.

    Morning :)

Thanks for your patience, I wanted to post an update last night but could hardly see straight, so had to go to bed!

    Tayforth

Can you get to a shop?

Best tip ever given to me by a doctor was cad buries dairy milk for a sore throat.

You'll need a big bar for a long day.....just a square or two at a time....it coats the throat amazingly!

I did see this and took a couple of squares with me (Mum always had a bar of Dairy Milk in the house), and I don't know if it worked but it was nice lol.

Tay, I confess, for a few moments I actually thought 'oh she really is coming down with what her ex has got'...

Hope you have a lovely day, knowing you are free to be happy and laugh and be yourself today and for ever more.

I've been following your thread for ages now Tay. It seems like your story has touched so many people and i am very glad you are doing so well in your 'new start'.

This thread has inspired me to start to take control of my own very unhappy situation... I was in an abusive relationship a long time ago and as a consequence, have been bringing my daughter up alone ever since then... For a long time i did not have any relationships at all ( too scared, and also too difficult, being alone with a young child!). but then a couple of years ago i became involved with someone who i thought was terrific, at first. I found out after a while he was lying about being separated (sigh). I ended it, but then He later left his wife and turned up wanting to be with me. For a while it has been off and on but I realise now, that although he has not been violent towards me and has been in some practical ways kind, there is many levels of emotional abuse which have really worn me down to the point at which i am almost constantly crying and so down, that i have been struggling with work and a part-time course I am taking. I feel a shadow of the person I was when i first met him.

Its very different as we have not been living together and i am in a rather grotty situation...(struggling financially, hate my rented flat but cant afford to move)... But i feel determined to start my own 'newstart'now ... I want to blossom as you have done!

Hope the wedding was wonderful x

Oh (((((hugs))))) and thanks for posting. You've done well to recognise the abuse, that's the first step. I would almost describe it as a 'lightbulb moment', and it took me a long time to reach mine!

I hope that you do start a thread as duckeggblue suggested, I will definitely follow it. Or feel free to just post here, whichever suits :A xxxx

Hugs kitty xx With the same sort of support Tay has got on here I hope in time you can resolve this difficult situation. DId you want to start a thread detailing your situation right now? There are lots of ladies on here who will have helpful supportive advice for you, we're here for you. Well done for making your brave new start. YOU are truly a lovely mum x What is truly inspiring is that you are RECOGNISING the abuse and that is key to getting the lovely life you deserve.Although you are not living with him, you are clearly in the grip of an abusive man, Hun, and that's NO less relevant he is till Controlling and hurting you, there are people on here who have been through this and can help, reach out.You are going through stuff like Tay, you need support.

    Excellent post xxx
I've not read your thread for a while Tay (looks suitably shamefaced) but I've caught up now. WOW! So much has happened over the last 6 days and you've reached the milestone of your sister's wedding. I hope it went well and you didn't get a grilling from your family.

It's a bit late now for the wedding but I suffered (and that is the only word to describe it) from severe urticaria a few years ago. The only anti-histamine that worked for me was Piriton syrup. Seriously. The stuff for kids with Tingle flavour. If your rash is continuing, give it a try. You might want to keep it in the fridge - it seems to improve the texture. My rash was so bad at one point that I literally didn't have one bit of skin not affected - my throat, all my mucous membranes, my hands, legs and feet were swollen and itchy. I felt like clawing my skin off. And I had a thick top lip with it - not attractive!

Along with the rest of your 'followers' I'm really looking forward to your updates!

Thanks for that. I have been SO itchy, even now I'm fighting the urge to scratch. :o
