    Hi Tayforth

I've read your posts and I really think that you're a wonderful person and an inspiration!

I'm going through a divorce as we speak, I separated last Summer (if you look at my previous posts, you'll see that I should have done so many moons ago!). I am going through a tough time at the moment too, however reading your thread has been incredibly helpful.

I wish you all the best, take things slowly, it's a rollercoaster and I have days where I don't even want to get up out of bed, but I plod on. I'm dealing with my emotions and how I feel towards my stbx and it is getting better every day (although some days I can't see it).

    Take care x

They usally have a way of covering the screws so you can't but a screw driver might work?

If not one of those big clippers is all you can do to snap it off...I can't think of the actal name lol

Bolt cutters or bolt croppers. About 12 quid plus VAT from a tool hire shop:

Keep the old padlock so you can't be accused of theft. replace it with a weatherproof padlock which will be harder to cut off. Somewhere like Robert Dyas is a good bet and they very often have a sale on!

Ohhh, I love Lush. Might pop in later and get something nice. I had a clearout of toiletries this morning too, which was long overdue.

When I was feeling particularly down one morning, I decided to pop into town and went into Lush, no one else was in there, and there was a lady who worked there who gave me the world's worth of attention and more (which I really needed right then). I spent over an hour with her as she tried different products on me and basically got really pampered. I spent a decent amount of money, although not too much that I worried about afterwards, went home totally refreshed to use my new products.

Try to nip in when they've just opened and when they've all got energy and they're quiet and have a pamper fest! Or at least hope you get an assistant as good as the one I had!

So why are you still at work? Is it to avoid being in the house with your OH? ((((((hugs))))))[/QUOTE]

Partly...mostly really!! I am pretty good at separating the work/home bit. I've always worked, single mum - 2 kids before I married this one :( and I looked after my Mum for 5 years whilst working.
He only 'works' 2 days a week so it's easier to come to work, at least he's doing most of the housework at the moment :) More in the few weeks since we decided to split than he's done in the last 3 years ;) I'm in teaching support (uni) so only another 2 weeks of teaching before the teaching work load eases off and I can take a few days leave.......I'm trying to save it up for when I move :D and anyway I feel better with a bit of banter with workmates.

But you take care of your self, I agree with the cleaning, I find it very theraputic to have a lovely clean, tidy house when I know there is only me that will mess it up :rotfl:

    Hello all

I went to the shops! Lush was busy and, anyway, I need to save my pennies (paying all the bills on my own now), so I postponed that.

I got a bit carried away in Poundland - bought lots of cleaning products, a screwdriver set :rotfl: and an aerial lead (woo!).

I also got some clear nail varnish in Boots (paid with points so zero spend). So I'm pleased with myself.

Then I phoned my mum to tell her that 'OH' was too ill to make it to the wedding, and she believed me - or if she didn't, she didn't question it. So that's one massive hurdle overcome. What a relief. Hopefully, she'll tell lots of people before Saturday and I won't be quizzed too much.
Life is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

Thank you. I'll see if I can unscrew the bolt from the door with the padlock still attached. The shed doesn't have anything valuable in it, and I can always put on a different bolt and padlock.

Yes, it is very therapeutic. And I haven't been up to housework, or anything much, in the last few months. It gives me a sense of satisfaction to make it all clean and tidy.

Sounds as if you are happier at work rather than home. I sympathise - when home is so unappealing that you would rather be at work, things are bad. Is there anywhere you could go, even for a weekend? Family or friends? I really feel for you.

Right, time to tackle setting up this TV. Wish me luck xx

Gah. Managed to get the freeview channels tuned, but not Virgin. Gave up and phoned Virgin, who are sending a technician tomorrow. But at least I have some channels for now!

Then I phoned to confirm my hire car for tomorrow.

Also unscrewed the bolt on the back shed, so I can use it again :) I'm determined to stand on my own two feet and not let any of the ex's dirty little tricks beat me :D

Oh Tay, that is marvellous: I was wondering when you were going to tell her and thought that might be a stress point. So relieved for you.
And well done for tackling some of the practical stuff - no shame in having a go with the tv and then booking a technician: that's still sorting it out :D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
