I use it all the time, i chat on there to my bf everyday, its our main way of keeping in touch. Its handy for events, its where the rock soc organise our meets etc. Pages i like often post interesting stuff (I !!!!ing love science is an awesome page, and george takai too). My mum always has the phone off so i use it to msg my sister or brither to let her know in advance when i'm going to call her. I've had it since the days when you had to be a uni student to have one
And its nice that i kind of have a record of the last 8 years or so of my life, pictures, statuses etc. I can look back and see how much my life has changed (and how much i've changed).

I find it useful to keep in touch with friends who live around the world but I only have friends on there who are friends in RL. I don't want hundreds of friends I don't know. I put photos on there of holidays and chat with a couple of people occasionally. Must admit that one friend gets on my nerves a bit with her constant posting of photos of grandchildren and how much she loves 'little man' or 'handsome little prince' yuk.0

I check it daily, just to see what other people are up to. Yes I am nosey!
It's a good way to keep in touch with friends and family though, those hat aren't close by and you can see how they are etc.Married my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j0 -
I use Facebook a lot! I have two accoutns. One is my 'work' account. It's the networking, goodie goodie account. I have colleagues and basically random people. In fact, I have say 400 'friends' and have met maybe 30 in real life.
I only really use it as a networking tool.
My other account is my private account where I have my friends, family and general people I meet on holiday or dating sites (although the latter tend to get deleted quickly if nothing progresses).
I have lots of photos. They are mainly holiday pictures or one's from nights out I've been tagged in.
I prefer to use this account to show all the 'good' in my life. Like holidays, a good day at work and showing love to friends and family.
I try not to post negetive things as I don't think it helps anyone.0 -

Since being moaned at on fb for daring to post anything negative  (in fairness-my life isn't 100% positive..but each to their own) i've resorted to saving the negative stuff for twitterThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. And the ones which are like "if you like this picture then this girl will get a life saving operation" ones..yes cos i'm sure thats how americian healthcare works. i can hardly imagine it being a case of "ooh doctor..we got 500 likes...we can operate!" :mad:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I'm not a hater...but I don't use FB anymore so I'm breaking the rules of the thread and posting anyway!
I left FB years ago having been on it a while and simply getting bored. I wasn't posting, updating or adding photos...so why bother
People think I'm a bit odd for not having a profile. As in people at work...apparently it means I have no friends!!! So they sit there and criticise it for being boring and people showing off on there but won't not have a profile because it's odd not to?
I'm cool with that though. I prefer to spend my time on this forum or going out ... if that makes me look odd fair dos!
One thing that annoyed the hell out of me about FB though (and this might be my age as I was mid 20s when I used it) was people posting about how drunk they got the night before and uploading photos mid night out. Every status update was about being hungover/ a shout out to friends to thank them for a 'totes amazing night' or a big apology for insulting everyone whilst drunk.
I remember once going to a friends birthday party and being made to line up for a FB photo..that was posted via her phone 3 minutes later!
Actually maybe I am a hater!0 -
I have a facebook group for mums which ive built up for nearly a year so obviously its vital for that. Before it i had a forum but people said they preffered fb as they could comment while they were doing other things and it was instant.
If anyone wants to join who is reading please get in touch! We have a reputation for being friendly and things rarely if ever get out of hand like they do on big forums lol.
I especially think its good for business as its all free and gives alot of exposure. I get bored by statuses that say im angry and everyone says whats wrong and I even saw one that said i have just farted.
That isnt interesting at all. I dont post many personal updates and if i do i try to keep them interesting. As i say vital for my group though.:footie:0
