i did watch it and couldn,t believe what I was seeing.
What was wrong with the women in his life. Sorry to sound harsh but they certainly wasn,t all there in the head.
Sick, sick , sick.:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0 -
Id love to know which bits she didn't agree with. Seemed to show it as it was to me. Maybe that was her problem, facing a big dose of reality.
I've seen the Panorama programme but not the others.
She probably didn't like the part where they talked about her claims of being sexually abused by her father. I think they said it had been investigated years ago and nobody believed her. Her sister and her father both said that it couldn't possibly be true.
I wonder if she ever mentioned this alleged abuse before she started living with Philpott?52% tight0 -
He knows right from wrong and asked me lots of relevant questions about it. Out of the mouth of babes 'It is just so wrong mum, they should have been loved and cared for'. Cant argue with that.
The saddest thing for me is that the little 5 year old went to bed in his school uniform. They probably put themselves to bed. My youngest is 7, and still wants a story and a cuddle, and sometimes a lullaby before he goes to sleep. I wonder if anyone helped that 5 year old to even brush his teeth, let alone give him a goodnight cuddle or kiss.
There were only 6 children in the house. I know a couple of large families, and even with more than 6 children they all get a proper goodnight, with pyjamas and a cuddle.52% tight0 -
Apparently their sentence will be passed this morning. I hope there is some justice for all those children. It will be insulting to their memories if they get off lightly. I will admit to not being knowledgeable in this area, but does anyone know what the minimum and maximum terms are that they can be given? The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0

Their defence solicitor didn't speak for them, their barristors did. Barristors take the next job that comes up, they can't pick and choose which ones to take, it's the 'cab rank' rule. They did a professional job of work, which is what they're paid to do. They do it for gangsters, murderers, baby killers. Don't damn barristors because they're doing a job in a professional manner when they have NO choice about which client to represent.Ronaldo_Mconaldo wrote: »What I can't stand in all of this is that after the trio were found guilty that their defense solicitor was allowed to stand up and claim that they were good parents. How anyone could work for their defense is beyond me but how they could then stand up and claim that they were good parents is just disgusting. Whoever stood up in court and said those words, I hope the universe conspires against them to make their life a misery..................

Oh wow, just heard the quotes from the letter he wrote from prison. They have just read it out on This Morning. Have avoided commenting on this so far but that just made me feel sick

Quite.
That's why I am - for once - quite sure that I wasn't the only person who was saying at that point:
"They did it. (Even if they didn't actually intend to kill the kids, and it was some stupid plan where they'd end up being heroes and get publicity and money and stuff)"
I also got told off for being a horrible cynical person for believing/saying such a thing.
Interesting to think back to those comments, on a thread where I seem to be cast in a very different role.
The discussions now aren't so much about did they do it. The process of law has found that they did indeed do it.
This thread is really delving much deeper than that. Which is interesting.
There have been several cases over the last couple of years where people's responses to the early obvious has been the same. Karen Matthews, this case, the one whose name I can't remember now, where the little girl went missing last year and her body was eventually found in the gran's boyfriend's flat (remember?). Anyone suggesting that the family are involved is flamed for having a go at them because they are on benefits, live in social housing or because of their lowly status in general. Then it gets compared to the Portugese case that dare not speak it's name and how those parents got lots and lots of help because they were well off. It's always the same.
I'm off now to get PPR'd for mentioning Portugal.
:D
JxAnd it looks like we made it once again
