Interesting statements from the judge about how Mairaed has stood up to Mick in the past, when he wanted a divorce and asked her three times but she refused, so she was capable of defying him when it was important to her. She's had 17 years though so less than him.
JxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
She got 17 years, minimum to serve 8 years.
What a f*cking joke. should be WHOLE LIFE
ETA: Moseley gets the same as Mairead

Lovely. A little less than three years in the slammer playing ping pong for taking a child's life!
You couldn't make it up..................

The saddest thing for me is that the little 5 year old went to bed in his school uniform. They probably put themselves to bed. My youngest is 7, and still wants a story and a cuddle, and sometimes a lullaby before he goes to sleep. I wonder if anyone helped that 5 year old to even brush his teeth, let alone give him a goodnight cuddle or kiss.
That is so terribly sad. I am fortunate in that I can fit my working life around my children. I respect that this is not the case for everyone though. Due to me having the time I make the effort every evening to spend time with my sons. We sit around and chat, do homework tasks together. Then at dinner time we sit at the table, they take an interest in my day and I in theirs. They have a bedtime routine of playing in the bath. Then its teeth brushed, faces washed and off to bed for a story. My eldest has half an hour reading by himself at his own request. My youngest still loves me reading him stories. To be honest I love it too, its fun getting into character of the animals and people in books and using expressive voices. Cracks him up when I do my take of Horrid Henry and Perfect Peter.
I feel gutted about the sentences they have each been given. It is a gut wrenching total insult to 6 beautiful children who had their whole lives ahead of them. I cant imagine what the extended family think. I am also keeping in my thoughts the teachers who will have built relationships with those kids. I would be horrified if this had happened to a child in the class I teach. They must be heartbroken too
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
Life should mean just that, LIFE. You never get out. They do that in America why not here?. She deserved more years too, though I would'nt like to be in her shoes when she gets back to prison. Hope the 3 of them rot in hell.0

And we the tax payers will probably have to fund new identities for them when they come out of prison!!
They'll probably have to keep Philpott in isolation to protect him from the inmates.0 -
We have been funding them thus far, will be while they are banged up and then for the rest of their natural by the look of it. Makes you feel a bit sick doesn't it :mad:The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. Yes, and not just the teachers - the assistants, dinner ladies, playground supervisors and any parents who have had any of the children over to play or for tea, the vicar who christened them, etc.
But teachers probably spent more time with those children than their parents did.52% tight0
