And we the tax payers will probably have to fund new identities for them when they come out of prison!!

They'll probably have to keep Philpott in isolation to protect him from the inmates.

That's one good thing about it. He won't have an easy time of it in prison and neither will she.

Life should mean just that, LIFE. You never get out. They do that in America why not here?. She deserved more years too, though I would'nt like to be in her shoes when she gets back to prison. Hope the 3 of them rot in hell.

AFAIK the reasoning is that when there's a possibility that you may get out sometime in the future then the prison staff have an element of control. If someone thinks/knows that they won't be getting out regardless of how well they behave then there's no "incentive" for them to behave well.

Yes, and not just the teachers - the assistants, dinner ladies, playground supervisors and any parents who have had any of the children over to play or for tea, the vicar who christened them, etc.

But teachers probably spent more time with those children than their parents did.

I bet those teachers invested more in them all too. Such a tragic waste. God few things make me want to spit ink but this case has really fired me up and annoyed me.

I don't know which is making me more angy, those who killed six children or the very lenient sentences they got.

If they had been found guilty of murder then it would be lenient -but there wasn't evidence to prove murder *legally* as there was no intent to kill the children.

Had the judge given them much more then we'd have gone through a series of appeals with Philpot lapping up yet more attention.

I do suspect once away from his influence Mairaid will turn and he'll be back in court on other charges .

Sadly you can't jail someone for life for selfishness and stupidity or for murder morally but not legally

Oh wow, just heard the quotes from the letter he wrote from prison. They have just read it out on This Morning. Have avoided commenting on this so far but that just made me feel sick :(

I didn't see this. I bet the contents of that letter was horrendous, arrogant venom.

As a teacher it is concerning how many children show signs of not being shown affection. They have no concept when you try to comfort them if they fall over and hurt themselves. They also display signs of not knowing how to handle conflict or upset. PSHE lessons are an eye opener too. Some children can look baffled and bewildered when you ask them about themselves, encourage them to put their opinions across, as if they have never had this happen to them before. They also have no idea how to sit on the floor and play games or be part of a team.

As far as I am concerned being a parent comes with huge responsibilities, not least of which is investing as much time, love and attention into your kids as you can.
