    Taken on board.

But - like someone said earlier - if Mairead was just a bit dim, and a bit under the control of an abuser why didn't she confess sooner, admit what she did, go to the kids bedside etc etc? Her actions AFTER the fire were just self serving. And that's too much a trait of someone in control of their life rather than someone being controlled. Jmho.

I don't think she was "a bit" under his control, I think she was fully under his control, which continued after the death of the children. It is entirely possible (and probable in my opinion) that he was still telling her what to say and do after the deaths of the children, as to not further incriminate himself. However, he didn't have the intelligence to understand what normal behaviour is.

I don't believe she is an innocent party, she made her choices and that will be something she will have to live with for the rest of her life. Knowing that she could have saved her children from this ridiculous vendetta against Lisa and she chose to listen to and go along with her husbands plan.

It must have been the luxurious surroundings of the rocking caravan that lured them in ;)

    *shudder*

Nah, I reckon it was the musky smell from not washing for a month!

Okay, so lets presume Mairead was truly under Micks control - I wonder would her lawyer not have tried that as a defence for her? It does seem plausible if only because so many folk here seem to think so. And there are lots of clever people here as we all know.:D

I would still like to throw a pitchfork at her mind you. :rotfl:

I know I shouldn't laugh, but I just did. Just when I think I might understand women I watch a program like this and wonder what on earth they saw in him. Ladies, you remain a mystery to me. :o

I can't even begin to understand the kind of life those women must have had that they ever came to think "Oh yes, he's attractive, I'll have some of that please!". One woman, it could have been some sort of freak set of circumstances, or a series of massive errors in judgement... but SEVERAL women??

I feel like bathing in Dettol just watching that program. What an awful, awful story.

I think it is horrific that they committed this crime and have lied and lied. As with all people who do this, they make it very hard for people who are genuine victims of any crime.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

They probably did and the police but the only person she had left in her life was him.

Interesting point actually. I wonder why that never came up. Maybe the secret recordings that were made, revealed far more about her part and willing involvement in all this, than have been disclosed publicly.

When I hear that 999 tape recording it makes me feel awful.

Or the eloquent, loving way he spoke to them. A lady would not get involved with him, not one with any class, self respect or judgement anyway.
