Hi everyone, just a quickie before I start my Spanish homework. Seems to be all go, but in a good way. Brilliant news today from a work colleague who had just had an op for cancer, the biopsy said he is all clear and does not need further treatment. So pleased for him and his family.
Happy Anniversay Haribo's? my memory is getting worse. Glad you are a bit brighter Jet. Pen-Pin are you OK, don't keep it to yourself due to some narrow minded comments, you must be totally fed up of seeing the inside of hospitals. I can't get my head round it Anniestar, even if you are not a cat lover, which I am not I wouldnt dream of saying anything like that in a PM. I think it goes back to the old saying, if you cant say anything nice, say nowt! Shame I'm not nearer Queenie, learnt how to do it when my Grandad kept hens, in the painless way for them (a lot of years ago though!). He had a broody hen, who they had nicknamed Mary after their daughter, and Grandma and Mary had the same problem when she was ill.
Amie got three Boots vouchers now, the 3 for 2 mouthwash did give me 300 points from one coupon (100 per bottle), together with the 17 mascara with £1 off from the magazine, and 17 nail varnish with 50p off from the machine = free 17 makeup bag, and came to £9.78, so a 35p chewing gum made the £10 up for the extra voucher. Trouble is the serum is still OOS:mad: especially as I have the half price voucher from the magazine and 3 for 2 and the £5 voucher, hope they have it in by Thursday. It's awful having the vouchers and not knowing what to buy!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Take care all

Evening everyone,
Well the weather stayed good. We went to Broch of Gurness this morning. It's an Iron Age Village. We then went and had a long walk on the beach (with no sand)just tons of rocks. After an hour and nearly a twisted ankle  we sat on the rocks in the gale force freezing winds and gazed out to sea.
On cue about 6 seals came to investigate. :T Beautiful sight.
I also did a spot of shopping this arv. Got DGS a t-shirt & myself an orkney cookbook. It's from the Scottish Rural Institute up here with local recipes. Here's one *Pigeons with Rice & Parmesan Cheese* mmmmmm yummy.
Happy Anniversary Haribo. May you have many more to come.
Queenie Sorry to hear that one of the girls have taken ill. Down side of chooks I'm afraid. It is definatly worth it, she got to know the good life for a little while.
Annie I've been keeping a diary and DH takes loads of photo's. I'm afraid I'm just the same at home.Tourists have seen more of Oz than me.
CM I keep forgetting you're so good. Maybe you can give us some tips.
BRzl Lovely to hear you had a nice time in Paris. We've missed you.
Have a good nights sleep. I'm to surf a wee bit and then flick through my new cook book.
BTW Queenie could you put those recipes in the recipe thread (if there not there) so I can print them when I get home. They sound delish. Saves me searching the threads for them. We often get cheap strawberries.
ByeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Just a quickie to say anniestar I think it's rotten that someone sent that PM. It's your money and pets are very important and it is unthinkable not to do your best for them. Hope puss is improving.
And Queenie, I don't think I'd be able to do the *necessary* no matter how much I knew it to be the right thing. Like Aussie says, she's known the good life for a while, and if she is as bad as you think I hope she goes to permanent *sleep* tonight.
((hugs)) to you both.
CMYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Evening all - bloomin' cold here and I have treated us to some ...... HEATING
I am sitting here ignoring a text from middle dd asking me to put a tenner into her account (again!)
lovely and quiet here - just me and youngest dd. ExOH has gone to his mum's for the night or longer (finger's crossed). Regular readers will know that he popped in for a cup of tea some months ago and has been occupying the spare room ever since. I know all my friends think I'm a complete muggins but he does seem to be in a bad way at the moment - very down and has lost about two stone in the last couple of months. He does help out a bit and it is nice to have some childcare on tap but I do wish he'd sort himself out. Listen to me - if it was anyone else I'd be telling them to change the locks Pronto!
OSwise i left work really late today so we've had lentil bolognaise from the freezer - I haven't actually done any grocery shopping this week :T
Right must go if I'm ever going to learn How to Look Good NakedI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
