(((Hugs)))) So sorry Queenie! Could the PDSA help? Might be worth a try!

Queenie ((hugs)) animals become one of tha family, not stupid to feel upset at all.

Hugs to anyone else who needs/wants one.

Well visited special school this morning for DS1, I have finally admitted it's not if he will need to go there but when, I ended up crying when we were in talking to the head, having to admit how bad things are and go through it all etc. Next point is contact LEA to apply for a special needs place for him, oh the joys. Just hoping we as his parents are making the right choice for him. They have said they can deal with children who are good academically, when I told her the grades he was achieving so far she said 'Never had one quite that good' :o proud Mummy moment.

Spent afternoon sorting stuff to go to others via freecycle (cleared some clutter) and trawling scrap yards for parts, think we got everything I need apart from a seat belt. As for the rest, did prep bolognese base last night, browned mince off this morning while kids had breakfast and threw in SC, pleased on days like this to have it there and dinner sat cooking while we are dashing about.
One day I might be more organised...........

Hi – haven’t had much time on here today – lots going on. Having a new shower put it so workmen in and out all morning and, with the water turned off, I keep having to visit my neighbour’s loo and each time I do that she makes me another cuppa, so I keep having to visit her loo and, well, we’re in a loop now!
MR AND MRS HARIBO – Happy Anniversary!
CATOWEN – glad the hospital visit went well.
MRSMIX - poor DS2 and DD and poor you, as well! Hope they are both feeling better now.
QUEENIE – hope the sun is still shining for you – it isn’t here. Thanks for all those icecream recipes – can’t wait to try them ALL – at once! I’ll make one to take to DS2 and his GF on Thursday, because they’ve invited us to dinner.
YELLOWMONKEY – good luck with cooking from scratch! You’ll find it tastier and cheaper and it won’t be full of chemicals! If it’s your first attempt (and it turns out well, of course!) you will also experience a real glow of smugness!
ANNIEBOOKLOVER – I was going to suggest you emailed Amazon but, on looking through the rest of the thread, you already have! I wouldn’t put up with that, either! They tempt you into spending over £15.00 then, when the order can’t be fulfilled because THEY are low on stock, they expect you to pay for delivery?! If enough people complain they would have to rethink their policy! Oh, and ANNIEB – you must eat regularly – we don’t want you going all woozy again! Hope DD’s ear is getting better.
LYNZPOWER – hope you are feeling better.
OOPSADAISY - I know you said not to do too much ironing but I’ve FINISHED IT! Sorry! Good luck with the smoking – sorry, the NON-smoking!
    JET77 – she’ll have a great time – don’t worry she’ll be fine!
CRAZYCHIK – good luck with the CPL – I love cats but I couldn’t eat a whole one!
PATENTGIRL – glad the yoghurt cake went down well!
METHERER – hope you are feeling better.
Well, need to go and check the gammon joint I’m doing for dinner tonight with salad and new potatoes; haven’t been able to make the salad yet because I’m still waiting for the water to be turned back on – he must be finished soon, please!!! We’re just having melon slices for pudding – nice and quick.
Anyway, (((hugs))) to anyone who needs one and will try and pop in later depending on how the rest of the day goes!

((((hugs)))) to Queenie and lil_me Hope matters resolve themselves for you both soon.

Just checked my e-mail and I have a reply from Amazon. They say that it "appears" I did not check the Free Delivery box. Yeah right. I distinctly remember doing it - that's another bugbear with Amazon. Why push the Supersaver free delivery on the product pages then not have THAT box checked when you go to the checkout pages? I know to look out for that one and I know I did select free delivery. In any case, they are refunding £7.82 to my account as a "goodwill gesture". :j So at least I will have another couple of Christmas pressies to put away.

mioliere I know I should eat regularly and 99% of the time I do. I consider myself duly chastened. :o;) No improvement in DDs ear btw - but she hasn't had a full 24 hours treatment yet so I don't expect any improvement until at least tomorrow afternoon. Thank you for your kind wishes. Hope you get your loo back soon or you could find that you won't be able to sleep tonight with all that caffeine!

Edited to say: I just read an article on the BBC website. A man had taken Lloyds TSB to court to reclaim bank charges and the judge ruled in favour of the bank!!! Quite a discussion going on in the Pure Money forum.

    Bye for now. xx

    Afternoon all,

Hugs to all in need and congratulations to all with something to celebrate.

Cold here to-day but no rain, have put some clothes out to dry and have more in wm. bm is on with bread as we have about two slices...sometimes I go overboard with the baking and then run out before I think of baking again.
DD4 is studying at home, she has been upset this morning as a friend's mother died...right in the middle of exams! I am a bit put out too as I normally care for DGS2 on Tuesdays but with Mammy at home I am not being viewed as 'boss' so we have had a couple of run-ins on that score....maybe half an hour of cartoons would help calm him down, I have no idea where his energy comes from, I have forgotten if my own children were like that...they can't have been as with seven with only 10 years between first and last I am sure that they would have killed or maimed each other as I doubt if I could have kept up.

Nothing exciting happening here, well done to those who are new non-smokers, I have never regretted giving up, kept my cigarette money separate for 'me' treats for quite a while...was lovely to have money without guilt.

Hope everyone has a pleasant afternoong and evening

    Hi All,
Phew! Ive had a busy few days, the only chance I got to log on and the site was down for maintenance!
I have this week off w**k, so today I have been in to Birmingham to meet a friend for lunch which was very nice (and incredibly fattening, but the less said about that the better!)
OH has requested Indian for tea but I may make it just for him as I am so stuffed.
My plan for the rest of the day is a couple of hours surfing, cook tea, then a nice relaxing evening with my knitting (Im making a scarf for a friend for Christmas) or cross stitching (Im cross stitching an angel card for my mum for Christmas)
DD1 is doing her SATS this week, so will make a bit of a fuss of her and let her choose what she wants for her tea.
Forgot to mention: Queenie, Im sorry to hear about your chook.

    Afternoon all

Queenie - hope you get the chook situation sorted - I'd offer to send DH round but he's trundling up the Msomething or another towards Liverpool.

Hugs to all the rest in need.

It's blumming freezing here, lashing down with rain and a thick sea fog, have had to resort to putting the heating on, not only was I freezing but I've so much washing to dry that can't be tumbled.....it's lovely to actually feel warm....although it really does feel wrong to have the heating on in May.

I've just had a bit of a muck up with some washing and a new pair of trousers has leached brown dye over 2 of DH's work shirts....have stuck them back in the wash to see how they come out :o

Not sure what's for tea, DD's are still deciding.........what's the betting they choose the only thing I don't have in the house

Hope everyone has a great evening.

I think in future I will try both play.com and Amazon and check prices when I want a book, dvd or cd.

There is a brilliant website called http://www.find-dvd.co.uk/ which does a price comparison - with & without postage - across about twenty to thirty online retailers. Really quick and easy to use. Works every time for me.

They have a CD site too, which I haven't used http://www.find-cd.co.uk/

    Hello all

First time I've managed to get on here today. The whole Flylady thing isn't going to plan at the minute...

I'd end up being house-bound if I tried to do housework every day. :o Had enough to do today with getting some new clothes for my little one and doing a top-up shop at Tesco. My local Tesco are getting a bit stricter about which coupons they accept nowadays so I think I'm going to switch back to online shopping.

I do find that it's easier to stick to a budget online as well (especially if I go back to meal-planning.) All my old style intentions have slipped just lately. I really need to get the finances and household routines sorted before this second baby arrives in a few weeks time but I'm getting nowhere fast! :o

I'm going to spend some time tomorrow reading through the back pages on OS and trying to get inspired again!

Edit: Just read back through the thread. Queenie - I am a total wuss when it comes to animals. Hope you get something sorted wihtout too much anguish.
