Hi everyone
Kat - you're clearly doing a fab job of steadying the ship for Clootiesmum & Bouncyminky, amongst others - your positve words help to bolster us all, so THANK YOUand you do make me giggle, especially the hugs comment! :rotfl:
Statoneryspender - the more of us there are, the better! Welcome to our mini, sorry major, effort to clear debts by Dec 2014 :j
ClootiesMum - are you OK after the car incident? Big hugs :grouphug:
Well, I didn't manage to update yesterday as it was a bit manic. It was definitely a spend day as I went SJ with my horse, however it was one of our better days & we achieved 2nd place & recouped our entry fee :T
I also found out that I passed the exam I took during half term week, so I am over the moon
Ooh and a friend took some horsey things to a local car boot sale, and managed to get £28 :j
Unfortunately, I returned home last night to find my DH in a state. He suffers with depression & insomnia - he'd managed to get himself really upset & down, mainly as a result of pushing himself too hard at work and being really good at beating himself up - to give him space & the chance to get some sleep, I slept on the sofa (with the dog & a hot water bottle) so I'm not as refreshed as I should be!! He seems a bit brighter today (DH not the dog!) so will keep trying to support him.
I did have a bit of a realisation though, that in desperation in past times, I have spent money to try & make DH happier, but also to make myself feel better too  and I don't mean that to be an excuse, as no-one was holding a gun to my head to spend money that I don't have, but I guess realising some of the causes might help me to deal better with things in the future...
Anyway, I witter on...
Have a lovely Sunday everyone!

Hi everyone!
Hope you've all had a good Sunday? Another spend day for mehowever the break down is as follows:
Tesco weekly shop £47.21 (2 people, plus lunch fodder, until next Sat eve)
Petrol top up £36.44 (should last me to next weekend)
Both of the above was paid for in cash
1 lesson taught £25 cheque to be banked tomorrow
Actually, looking at it now, that's not so bad is it?!
I have joined the WSC 21/04 for this week, pledging 4 SFDs - I'm a little scared by this, but determined to finish the month having made a degree of progress, allbeit small
L2B - have you planned all your meals? I'm rubbish at it & always seem to be missing a crucial piece!
Thanks Stationeryspender, I'm glad I'm not the only one! I think that I've always known that I'm an emotional spender, but last night having calmed down OH, my instinct was to find something to give us a boost  at least now the penny has dropped (excuse the pun) hopefully I can stop that habit & develop more useful coping techniques

Hello all. Quick update tonight as I've been on the laptop for 2 hours already
Only spent £2.00 at the car boot but bought a dungerees and a grobag for that. Had to put more petrol in the car so another £15 added to budget. We also went to the play barn again as it was pouring it down after lunch. Spent £2.50 out of entertainment budget there.
I'm hoping to only spend money on Monday and Tuesday next week. All the rest should be SFDs and then it's DH's payday on Friday. I'm far too excited as I can transfer more money to debt and savings. I'm slightly addicted to this now and all DH says it you're doing brilliantly and you're in control of the money. I've written down all the planned spends so shouldn't go out of control next month I'm hoping. Also, on payday I'm hoping there's at least £170 in the account left to put to debt and savings. :j:j:j:jTOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -
Evening everyone. Been a fairly frugal weekend. With DS1 recovering from a chest infection and DS2 having exams to revise for its been a very quiet (and slightly boring) weekend.
DS2s cricket club have brought out new kit so he wants a shirt and a baseball cap. These have to be bought online, flippin £35 including delivery for both!!! Strictly speaking he could wear a plain white shirt and any old baseball cap, which would cost very little, but everyone else has the proper team kit. And of course you dont want your kid to be the only one without the right stuff. This was not budgeted for. I need to update spreadsheets tomorrow but I am struggling a bit this month.
Oooh and its cold tonight but I am resisting putting the heating on! Off under the fleecy blanket to watch a bit of telly I think.0 -
Evening all... a quick one from me... had a busy day and spent a little on foodage.. I need to update my signature but am only around £10 on my food as I have been living on party junk for a week. Big shop on Wednesday for healthy bits I think...brother arrives in the evening and will refuse leftover stale birthday cake I think...
Went to a petting zoo today. With other people though and a child so not on my own like a complete loser. Although I think I was more amused at the massive rabbits and goats than the toddler...:T:T:T
Afternoon spent with a girlfriend packing up my room - my my my what a lot of things I have. Been ruthless though so am not moving with anything I don't need or don't want to replace. Realised my wardrobe needs a bit of an update I think.. maybe after my DFD...:T
Righto - early shift tomorrow so am off to bed and will see you all bright and early...
WE are missing some peeps so I might send some messages tomorrow...

Oh dear - where is everybody...?? Fine and dandy in NSK land... feeling the optimism, energy and clarity that comes only from a Monday morning. Hope everyone is chugging along okay. Scheming another SFD today if it kills me....GRR!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Hello all, I have been reading but still getting my head around my budget revamp and having to really think about figures.
In five years time I would like to be debt free with 3 months living costs covered and working for myself. Ideally I would like to be running a social enterprise cafe with a twist...one can only dream. In that time I have a few trips I would like to do home and abroad...the lake district, Ireland, Barcelona, Croatia, Denmark...oh the list goes on. For me my life would be perfect if I had financial freedom and security (as far as self employed goes), chasing some dreams and exploring new places. I have two beautiful girls, lovely home that will be sold by the five years as ex wants his money but embrace it when it comes - as long as debts gone it will be OK, and lovely people in my life.
So its just the debt and once that's shifted it will be perfect
I enjoy reading about all the new jobs, debt achievement and new little ones coming. Its lovely. You guys are the only people I speak to about finances apart from my sister so it all really helps.
Need to tidy and clean as visitors later.
Onwards and upwards...Happiness is wanting what you have...0 -
Sorry, the weekends aren't good for me to check in usually. Had a NSD on Saturday and a grocery spend day on Sunday. This month is rubbish. Cant believe it's only the 22nd !!! Also getting the cold, this time of the month, a trapped nerve in my back since Saturday and the house is a tip as I couldn't be bothered on the weekend. Not a good start mood wise to the week. Can only get better.
However, my ebay is going okish. A jumper i put on three times and now finally for just 99p stands at 5.49 with three days to go. A few others have bids/watchers too.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250
