Morning all! Can't believe I'm up so early on the weekend but this sunshine is gorgeous! Reporting another SFD for yesterday....it's a little bit addictive. Would have never have guessed that it would be possible for me, but I'm really motivated by coming on here & hearing how all of you are doing. So a big thank you! :T
Bouncyminky - I was wondering about that cushion, thanks for clearing up LOL
Jonesy88- hope you had a great birthday. Wow, you have had a busy week
KUTAT & Siouxsie32- can I join your Dec 14 club too? That's my DFD and it feels very close (and yet also not close enough!).
Right, today will be a spend day for me, heading to 2 parties as well to the shops, so it's now about damage limitation. Haven't really tested myself since LBM as have avoided the shopping centre but now feel I'm ready for the challenge. Wish me and my battered cards luck!:idea:LBM @1/4/13 £15,754

Updates on figures whilst kids out at swimming lesson with OH. Then out into the sunshine!
food 311.32/400
travel 1.45/20
petrol 0/60
other 403.76/191.90 - damn PS3!!!!!
Apart from PS3 I'm quite positive about how the figures are - even went into account and creamed some money over to savings (to decide what to do with it) and that's before rebate is in the account.
Now brother in law is 40 this year - says he wants to go to athletics in London and spend weekend up there - he's not added another day - looks like it may get quite expensive - I don't even do this for OH or children's birthday so feels a bit of a cheek that BIL is asking. He's starting to mention the london eye (with an 18mo and 6yo?!) uh oh. OH said to him that we will need to know costs so we can save - but I've said we may not be able to do all he wants. We've still got a holiday in summer to try and sort as well. Just a bit annoyed as he has no kids and lives with MIL so low rent - but we've got to think of the 4 of us. Thinking cap on for cutting costs now and careful negotiations to be had I feel. Have a good day all whatever you are doing. If you want to feel rich, just count the things you have that money cannot buy.0 -
Yeay stationeryspender, the more the merrier :j I'm working my way through my current challenge (which is actually kat's 2013 challenge) but I thought about starting my own diary next year when I have to leave mama's nest and sort the final year out for myself (although I know she'll be cheering along from her debt free sidelines
)
Bouncyminky (I LOVE that name), there are lots of 2 for 1 vouchers for things to do in London over the summer (including the London Eye). London's expensive as a single person so as a family, the best thing you can do is plan plan plan! I'll have a root about and see if I can remember where I saw the vouchers and let you know.
Happy birthday Jonesy88 _party_
I'm spending a few unplanned days with my friend. He lives on the coast and I'm hoping the weather will stay as it is today! It should be relatively unspendy (I have a bag of food in the boot of my car ready to go!!). It's all part of a cunning plan to eek out my electricity so I don't have to top up before payday (plus he has a big telly and a nice garden so I plan to spend the next 48 hours vegging out!)
Enjoy the sunshine everyone, this time next week we'll be almost at the finish line0 -
Well, I have made a mess of this one, haven't I?
Fell off the wagon? More like acted like a lemming & ran at it full tilt:o
Anyhow, just a quick update while I wait on DH getting out of theatre with his new hip....
Car was a write off - had to buy a new car
Have had to buy a couple of wee things for the house for His Lordship's recovery - shower seats & the like.
And this month at work there has been a wedding & 4 birthdays I've had to put into....
But if the challenge is up & running next month I will join - there will be no operations, I promise not to write off another car and life will be good
Well done to all of you & sorry I have let the side down....Debts 07/12/2021

Hope you had a lovely birthday yesterday Jonesy88.
My spend day was a bit more than I planned however I have bought a pram from a charity shop for £39.99 which is in great condition. It was £10 under what I was planning on spending so very happy.
Food shopping totalled £20.77 and I spent £2.50 at the play barn out of our entertainment budget so pleased with that.
Tomorrow DS and I are going to a car boot sale to meet my Aunt. I have £10 from our clothing budget to spend on clothes for DS and baby so should get lots. I'm currently sorting through DS's baby clothes to see what I can keep and what I can sell. I've found lots of plain jeans and dungerees.TOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -

Please forgive me as I have sinned, ............... I went completely mad with my CC................. its suddenly hit me smack in the face .....
So if you will still have me for the rest of the month I will......... get my head around budgeting.......... cut the cc up and just use cash and if there is no cash then will just have to go without a..........and check in a bit more to help me to focus on not spending if that makes sense.
Okay young lady! I can't be too harsh as you have clearly seen the error of your ways! When you say you are useless at budgeting - are you unsure of how much you spend where etc.. or do you feel there is always something that isn't budgeted for that throws you off..? We have a myriad of budgeters here with so many different methods... share some more for further tips and tricks.
It takes a while to get your head around so I shan't leave you on the naughty step too long.. well done for not giving up or giving up the ghost...
Stay with us - we will carry you when you fall honey!

Am loving this fighting voice!! Soon you will get to the point where you will physically hate spending ANY unnecessary money at all and you will morph into a complete miser like me.
