  • Hi all
Back to work today after a week off, but managed to do 2 bank shifts.
    Today will be a SFD!!!!
Yesterday I ended up back in the SM for rice, why I didnt think to get it on saturday with my other bitsI don't know. Really Saturday and sunday were both wastes of SFDs, if I had done a shopping list I would have remembered to get them on thursday with the rest of shopping:mad::mad:, bangs head on desk....
    Enjoy your day everyone xxx

  • A few more SFDs racked up on the weekend. today was a spendy day, trying to keep all of my expenses together so that I can make the 20 SFD target.

ON a bit more of a bum note, it doesn't look like I'm going to get much in the way of over payments this month :( I was hoping for a big contribution, but I guess that's not going to happen.

Do people find it's better to do overpayments at the beginning of the month and then live on what's left? Or do you prefer to wait till the end of the month and see what's left?

I do the second one, but I'm thinking that I would be more effective at debt busting if I did the first one.

I do the first one. So I know what I have left and get the high from reducing debt/increase saving right after payday (plus the money is gone and I can't theoretically not spend it). If I'd do it the other way round there'd be nothing left.

Hi everyone, just calling in with another SFD, hoping to get a few more this week, not kept tally this month but doing OK I think. Have a few days off now so will be making loads of freezable meals to last the next few weeks, and want to have a go at some biscuits and cakes as well.

Hope the weather picks up a bit, as I need to get outside and do some planting out in the garden, hopefully have some fresh veggies in a couple of months:):) I also want to get walking more, for years I have wanted to go on a walking holiday of some sort, so I need to get fit as its something I want to do next year - setting a goal for myself:)

Anyway off I go and find something for dinner, may treat myself to fish and chips, HM of course so no spending out.

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been on all weekend. Have updated signature and another SFD today (8/20) but well short of target. Have had a quick catch up, love reading your posts. NSK - I too would be eating leftover party food (have been known to have cake for brekkie to use it up!) Angelpye - I'm the same re finances, it's good to have this group to talk to as it's not something I would be comfy talking about with friends n family. Thrifty lass - that's good news re eBay! I hope you get everything shifted and get a nice money boost from it.

I've been lazy on the eBay front but declutttered a bit yesterday. Food budget is getting close but will try n stay within it. I include alcohol in food budget - does anyone else do the same?

Got potatoes planted on Saturday and was gifted lots of veg seedlings. Sister very kindly treated me to lunch yesterday :-)

Still need to update signature with loan amounts and mortgage so it's all down in black and white.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your Monday.

Aunty ruby, its funny how isolating debt can be.I hvegreat friends but couldn't talk about my finances with them - they are lovey but finance info is different - funny though cos we know lots of details about sex life, birth stories etc
Anyway, I have different friends that are good for different things ie shopping, parties, hanging out with kids, crafting and I guess you lot are my group for finances...that's OK with me.

    Evening everyone

I've had a spend day but it was for playgroup and some clothes for DS and the baby. Playgroup was £1.50 out of entertainment budget and clothes were £5.97 out of clothing budget. I also spent £4.09 in McDs but I needed food and hadn't brought any with us. It came out of entertainment budget. Budgets are at the moment:

    Food £103.50/£120
    Entertainment £62.52/£81.20
    Petrol £55.01/£30
    Clothing £13.93/£30

I obviously need to adjust the petrol budget for May but we only have a week's school holiday this month. I won't need to buy anything else until the weekend now unless I spend some of the entertainment budget. DS and I should be baking tomorrow so we should have lots of snacks for the week. Raspberry buns, flapjacks and chocolate nests I think.

  • Grr....so close to having a SFD! On my way home from work, when I received a text from my little brother who had had an interview just up the road from where I worked & wanted to meet for a debrief. Oh well, could have been worse - if he wasn't job hunting, it probably wouldn't have just been a coffee & ended up being dinner & drinks. Just miffed as really want to make the target but aware that there several spend days coming up. Had a SFD yesterday though, so have updated signature for this one. Good luck all the rest of you!
