"Self Employed" business consultant, 33, ~£200k as always have managed to find enough work to be working 5 days a week. Obviously no benefits
Job is reasonable, not as interesting as when doing the same work as an employee but its double the total reward so willing to take the hit for a cash rich job0 -

Is a civil servent similar to a civil servant?0 -
Wow, some people earn loads! I'd wet my pants if I had a 40k a year job. Then buy new ones out of gold.
Hell I'd do that on 20k!
*sigh* One day... one day I'll earn enough to !!!! all over my clothes...Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. I'm 30, on £10k basic, plus £40k pension contributions and a dividend of somewhere between £250k-1m.
OH is 29, on exactly the same package.

OH and I run our own Ltd company. We earn exactly the same amount. In the tax year to April 2012 I earned £42,000. In the tax year to April 2014 I have a projected income of £75,000. This is gross, so all tax, NI, pension, car, health etc etc has to come out of it.
Chickabiddy - I know £20,000 sounds like loads (I've been there too), and £40,000 sounds like loads more. To earn what we earn, we had to take a major risk at the height of the recession, my OH works away a lot, I've had to get up to speed very quickly with running a business, and we have absolutely no guarantee of having any business whatsoever this time next year. And I still look for bargains at the supermarket. No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
