I work in Local Government earning just shy of £24000, I'm 32.
I don't particularly enjoy my job, it pays the bills, but I like the people I work with. I would look for another job, but its very close to home, about 10 minutes on the bus, and there are some decent perks (31 days annual leave, flexi etc).Debt free and staying that way! :beer:0 -

I'm an HCA on a dementia care ward in a small NHS hospital. Hoping to go back to uni in September to train to be a Mental Health nurse. I love my job but I dont love the politics that go with it!!! 31 years old, self employed, income fluctuates between 12k PA - 23k PA. Lower end if I take months off due to depression, higher end if I put my back into it.Debt free since 2014 - now saving for a mortgage deposit :heart2:

Emma I know how you feel I have previously spent 10 years working for the NHS as a care assistant and after 10 years service I was still only earning 18k per year.0
