If you are near me (Bournemouth/Poole) pm me and I'm sure I will be-able to find something or someone to help out!

    The irony!

You've justified leaving someone out by saying she was a gossip and generally horrid and then gone on to say a group of fellow pupils are weird and somehow a booby prize!

    Sounds like you're as bad!

She wasn't just generally horrid. She'd choose a pair of best friends, spread rumours about one of the girls such as her parents abused her, she'd slept around, she'd slept with her brother, she liked to have a party of one with her hand and other disgusting rumours. Then she'd make it seem like the other girl had started the rumours so she could nip in and be a shoulder for the first poor girl to cry on. Until she got bored and moved on. People knew it was complete crap but because bullying and gossiping was so rife, they went along with it anyway.

The weirdos were people who picked their noses in class and washed their hair when it rained. Thinking about it now, they didn't deserve to have to put up with her either.

What a terrible situation to be in.
I did think maybe the best thing to do would be to organise a party for the last day? Maybe starting half an hour after school finishes so it cuts short the limo journey but gives your son a reason not to be in the limo as he is needed to help set up?
Of course you would need to make it the party of all parties and that could be expensive :-(

Do you get paid for child-minding, is it purely as a favour or do you do it so your son has somebody to play with?
If it is as a favour I would be inclined to stop it. Some people will just take and take and laugh at you for being kind and generous enough to give. I have to admit I can put up with a lot from someone but if I feel my child is being wronged I become a lot stronger and say "No, I won't take that cr*p from you".

If the OP could put a rough area down as to where they are we could come up with some ideas for her, just a guide, such as Birmingham, Liverpool etc xx
  • How about hiring a helicopter could land in school grounds for your son to climb the rope to board it :j

    When in hole, stop digging!

It honestly sounds like you were part of a rather nasty gang and you are as good as the next one at singling people out and dismissing them as weird people.

When I was at school there were little groups of girls, and lads, but we didn't have this malicious streak which seems so common now. If there was an event all were included, no questions.

You are giving the impression that you were one of the [STRIKE]!!!!!es[/STRIKE] populars who liked to judge others and look down your nose at anyone who didn't meet your exacting standards. I mean why would you judge someone who greasy hair and chose not to wash it daily? Perhaps they only picked their noses when you were staring and gossiping about them as away of telling you to foxtrot oscar!

It's so crap that year groups fall into cliques and label others and judge them.

I can imagine how crap it must be to be left out. I remember in year 6 everyone had little books that they got people to write messages in and nobody wanted to write in mine :(:o

I'm voting for letting him choose what he wants to do and giving him a special day :)
